So does it bother anyone else that it's coming up on the one month mark since 1.7 came out, yet there hasn't been a single dev blog yet about anything concerning January or 1.8? I get it was the holidays, but they are over now, and this is there job after all. 1.8 should be here soon, but I feel as though we won't see it until very late in the month, or until February. And with the lack of communication, I'm thinking they haven't gotten much done on it, so it's gunna be half a$$ed again. Any thoughts or comments? |

We've heard that it is going to be late and that there is not yet a date.

For the record, the release cycle for monthly patches is INCREDIBLY tight. A four-week release cycle means every single week is jam-packed. Unfortunately, having the holidays and new years wholly consume two of those four weeks makes it impossible to do a monthly release. So it makes sense for them to hold out for a two-month release on the work done during December and January.

It doesn't really make sense to make a dev blog just to say "nothing's coming right now". There's no real guarantee of a monthly patch, they're just running a four-week dev cycle right now. And those weeks got nuked by holidays.
