Here are the topics I thought were most interesting to the DUST514 community. This is all I found in the 70+ pages.
************************************************************************************************* CSM asked if the plan is to finish balancing of ships by the winter of 2015. CCP responded that balancing is never complete and will likely continue indefinitely. (Same thing for DUST gear? I would say yes; the nerf/buff cycle lives on.)
Seagull continued with an overview of the future of the EVE/DUST link. This part of the meeting was so NDA that all memory of it was surgically removed from the CSM before they were allowed out of the room. (Very interesting. I hope that something good comes from this)
Due to the large amount of NDA material in this session, and the rapidly evolving nature of DUST 514 development, this session will be temporarily delayed. Readers should expect it to be added very soon after the new year. (I hope this drops in the next few weeks)
Regarding branding, Hilmar said that they'd found DUST 514's branding to be stronger as just DUST 514. "It's a shooter in the EVE universe," he said, "but that's something that you find out after the fact." He mentioned that from a logo point of view, the DUST logo is very much like an EVE Online expansion logo. For Valkyrie, the EVE connection was deliberately made much stronger because both EVE Online and Valkyrie are space-based games. CCP felt that anyone who knew about space games would at least be familiar with EVE Online, thus the branding for Valkyrie to strengthen the EVE brand. But Hilmar said as the three products mature and the connections between them are made stronger, the branding linking them will be made stronger as well. And as the natural progression of CCP's future products are released, they'll be connected into that. Hilmar also shared some of the history of the EVE Online brand and felt it would be hard for players to ever break their connection to the EVE name, so that will remain the center of the EVE branding strategy and over time the name recognition for other games would be nudged in that direction. (I am glad to see that we are getting attention and not just a forgotten part of New Eden)
Ali Aras asked: can we see more emphasis put on the EVE-DUST link? In particular, a lot of both the CSM and CPM would really love CCP to "go bold" on the link. Ripard added that there are upcoming competitors for both EVE Online the space game and DUST 514 the shooter. "We're concerned that other companies are going to infringe upon this fantastic combination that you are creating even before you can get it going," he said. Trebor added that when CCP starts marketing DUST 514 strongly (as announced at Fanfest), the link is a potential differentiator from DUST's competition and if it isn't a strong differentiator, it will be harder to sell DUST. (I like the "go bold" part and I am happy to see that both CSM and CPM are on board.)
Hilmar was very understanding of the question and in particular held up Nova Knife's posts about DUST as really hitting the nail on the head about the need to make DUST 514 a really kick-ass shooter. Over a period of a few minutes, he made it very clear that CCP's primary focus for the time being will be to improve the DUST 514 gameplay outside of the EVE-DUST link and build up DUST's reputation and audience in the challenging F2P market. (Although this is going to be difficult, I do believe that it is possible to do)
Instead, the focus will be on improving the DUST experience; in particular, the focus will be on grabbing shooter fans right from the get-go. As a result, while Team True Grit will continue to build on the EVE-DUST link, Hilmar feels very strongly that they should focus on the DUST experience and build a shooter that CCP can be proud of. *************************************************************************************************************************
Even though there wasn't much DUST talk released I am optimistic about what they have in store for us in 2014. I hope that CCP doesn't let up on development and continues to push connections between the games. I know that it isn't 1.8 notes but it is something to think about and shows that CCP is working on DUST.

+1. I read the minutes but this is a nice DUST-centric synopsis for forum peeps.
Hilmar's focus on the core shooter is the single best result i could imagine coming out of everything that has gone before - it's very encouraging and the correct prioritization imo.
If we can see Hilmar's prioritization manifested in Rouge's prioritization for 1.8 this merc will be a happy, happy camper.
I support SP rollover.

I like this the most, I tried not to get excited until something happens but this made me smile some. I hope it turns out to be true and we don't have to wait much longer.

They have been adding to and tweaking the game for months so I would say that they have done it and are continuing to do so. Just because they can't add 100 new things every month doesn't mean that it isn't being done. CCP is a slow burn type of game company and we shouldn't expect anything but the pace we are getting. To be honest I am still surprised that we have monthly updates.

Looks aren't everything and last time I checked there isn't a game that does what DUST does in the way DUST does it. I don't know of one game from 2010 that compares with DUST's set of in game tools and options. I may be a fanboy but I can see that this game is different from anything else that has came before. The problem isn't CCP it is the player's entitlement mindset and unwillingness to stick with something and help it grow. It is just easier to type out and anonymous one liner to try and get liked than it is actually try to do something constructive. Thank you for your input.

I agree that they may need to up their game but they do have more risk involved than the normal game company because of EVE. With that said, I am disappointed with the speed at which core content is being released. I would like to see more, faster but they have a lot to learn about FPSs and I am afraid that by speeding up the process that they will be screwing up the process. We don't have the numbers to endure a Summer of Rage.

The summer of rage was a black swan to eve produced because EvE nature allowed that kind of thing to happen. Dust514 nature is vastly diffrent so i doubt we have anything to fear their. Instead NPE and needs to be foucse and they need to fix it now not later. Dust has stagnated quite badly and new player matches were basically empty yesterday. Their is not enough new blood coming in to prevent a fail cascade when the next killer title comes along.

When I say the Summer of Rage I am more meaning the large amount of people who dropped sub because they were mad. I try to stay optimistic that our features will retain the hardcore until we hit a point where there is enough quality and enough features that it can be marketed as AAA. This is honestly the first FPS I have liked since the original SOCOM and I would love it if this game blew up and became a huge success.

I hope the slow burn on fixes and the limited content releases are just the part we see and that CCP has secretly been working on the next big things behind the scenes.
I suggest they go bold on the link as well. Just by adding real market access, combining economies and allowing for capsuleer generated FW contracts would heat things up.

Right now we need player trading and a full line up and suits and weapons. Other than that our focus needs to be on retention of old players and adding new ones. Combining the economies is important but not so important that it can't be put off till later to make the game better. Balance is a touchy subject because it is subjective by most mercs and takes time to do right.
