Has anyone seen or heard from a Jovian anytime recently? Surely they are all extinct by now, and if any are still around they will soon die from the Jovian disease. There is nothing to gain from a Jovian now.
What becomes interesting is if anyone finds a way to travel to Jovian space. So much advanced technology ripe for the taking with no one to defend it.

Why should they do that? The Empire is and has been at the fore front to military power and technology, we have been the only people historically who have had the capacity and the nerve to meet the Jove in open war.
If you consider defeat at the hands of the greatest and most power nation in recent history to be shameful....then consider your own situation where the state as long held up the Federation despite being a noticeably smaller empire.

While the Amarr have always had the largest standing army and navy, I doubt it is the strongest for that fact alone.
Now the reason the Caldari nuisance has yet to be obliterated is a complicated matter. While the State is mostly united politically, especially in the politics of war, the Federation is not. This means that while short periods of effective military campaigns can be achieved, they are completely subsidized by slows in militaristic mobilization as the people elect politicians that want peace, to replace those they see as war mongers. So while a lack of political decisiveness is the down bringing of the Federation, a lack of Military ability dooms the Caldari State. Which means that while the Federation has the ability to take down the State, the Caldari could never conquer the Gallante Federation.

High risk for high reward...i'm all for an exploration op. If a capsuleer thinks she's got a line on a Jovian outpost in wormhole space or some where else I would at least be willing to give strong consideration taking a security and salvage contract from her. Probably base cost, with completion bonuses based around percentages from the find.
I would anticiapte significant drone presence in the Jove complex and possibly other fauna. We could recon the complex, clean out the drones, and secure the critical nodes and then the capsuleer sends down his science & salvage team.

I don't think any of you want to enter Jovian space....
We simply don't know what is out there, last we saw of Jovian space was a large Sansha's Nation fleet blockading a known Jovian outpost.
What could that signify for the Jove? Or us for that matter. If the Nation really is in Jovian space, which is merely speculation at this point, what are they doing there? How did they get there? What has happened to the Jove?
Going into Jovian space even if we could might well simply lead to a fate worse than death, not that we fear death by any means, and horrors worse than we could imagine.
However as you say, there might be great potential for technological advancement if we could devise a means of reaching those systems.

Actually we caldari are an honorable people we would never stoop that low. We will defeat you by military means. When you say your nation can't be taken did you add the fact that the state as a whole can be mobilized to arms? We have the largest possible military with the most well trained militaries in new eden. Are forces may be small but we are effective and if we ever needed to we could just activate or population into a full war mobilization.
