Perhaps I might ply the shipping lanes as a trader or minor diplomat.
I want to get married, I know that for certain....perhaps I can settle down in some quiet corner of the Empire and live out my days in a custom, unsupported clone until I can die peacefully in my old age like all humans should.

There will never be an end to war. As long as someone has an axe to grind there will be some fool trying to wipe the other off the face of existence... Or at least out of their region. If anything our wars will only get more intense. Larger battles, higher stakes, more things to fear, bigger enemies to kill, more profit to be made.
Now, if you're asking me what will happen when my war is over and I finally feel like I've gotten my fill of killing, that's a question I can answer. I'll probably end up marrying Niina someday. No idea how long that may take to see through though. It's hard, y'know? Finally setting down the gun and picking up a ring. Then once we're together I don't much care where we go.
Maybe we'll stick around and build up our company. Maybe we'll just drop everything and go live out the rest of eternity on some far off planet. I really can't say which I'd rather do.

I think one day I'd like to own a lighthouse by the sea. They're outdated tech, lighthouse, but I've always dreamed about living in one. Being the guiding light for passing ships as they come and leave our lives day after day. There's a poetry in it. Then some days Niina and I could just sit by the sea and watch it, knowing that through all the trials we'd faced we some how got through it together.
I've thought about that lighthouse a lot during deployments. Sometimes when I'm laying in the dirt clutching a rifle and the panic attacks set in, that lighthouse is what guides my mind back to safety. Then every time the fighting is over I just want to go home to my girl and live out my life with her like I'd promised myself I would. But I can't... Because it scares me.
Because it's hard, y'know? Setting down the gun and picking up a ring.

Maybe I should start to find out what I would do should the war end...

I will probably end up retiring before the nations make peace, however once I've hung up my tags and tucked my helmet and rifle away in the back of my closet. I will spend the remainder of my days with my two beautiful children. My one daughter just turned eight and its hard for her to no have me home. My other daughter is 17 and she understands that this is something I have to do for us to get money but she wants me to come home for good as well. At the end of the day my childrens happiness means more to me than, the adventure of being a merc. All I need is enough isk and I can just sit back in my Penthouse with my kids and relax for the remainder of my years. |

But for each one of us their will be a time when we decide to retire from fighting their wars and find a place of our own. Eventually some of us may come back for the fight, for the four Empires or some of the minor factions in New Eden.
After Uprisings release the forums were a bad place, I'll never forget how CCP screwed up so badly.

Even with clone technology, and having already "given up my life" to gain the clone technology, I am not expected to survive through the end of the war.
My father Nadeus has no high expectations of me being able to make it through "alive". We lost me mother Anupreet in an accident nearly two years ago, and... Father never was happy with me making a decision that would put ME straight in harm's way.
He's a Gallente Courts Judiciary, and the postition has more than paid for a superb education and any comforts in Gallente society that a woman of my looks and age could want.
He didn't want me giving anything of myself to War, and to be a Dropship Specialist, of all the careers to train in, how could I ever justify that decision to him, and make him see what I see?
So, I may not make it through to do anything after the war.
But as long as the war is going on, I will use my DS to help see that other mercs make it through, to live after the war. |

ill find a backwater planet somewhere and start reverse engineering war tech into something productive. Ill also use it to give a home to all those out there who dont want to deal with race and bloodline. a planet where people come to just live there lives out not as caldart or amarr or gallente or minmatarr, but just as people. naturally ill have my own automated fleet of war ships guarding it but hey...

I did not think you this sentimental Templar Vadam, perhaps when I return to the Temple we can speak of your place in the Empire.
Every man, woman, and child has their own pre-destined place, a place given unto them in boundless benevolence by God so that they may live as all proper Amarr should. Perhaps your brothers in the Classairii can help you find your own slice of peace in the Empire.
Though I know some take more comfort being disassociated with the peoples of the Empire..... sometimes I think it kinder when the child is taken from their home to learn the ways of God and their duty. In that way they understand what it is they must protect, but never long for what they have never felt.
((Edit we do not know anything about Earth Thal, that includes Samurai. Most people in New Eden think Terra or the what ever lay through the EVE gate is more myth than fact.))

You have a child? To be so lucky as you..... ah but I am only envious.
As for your peace...remember that while it is your duty that has sculpted you and defined your life, both in terms of direction and content, it is ultimately a display of God's glory to accept what you are as separate from who you are, God's benevolence allowing us the personal freedoms of our individuality.
Take pride and solace in this individuality knowing that ours is the way on Uniform Though achieved through the certainty of the Faith, through the hearts and minds of the trillions of Faithful, and amongst them you are another unique part of that grand design.
As to each man springs a hundred different thoughts or emotions from a single glance of beauty, we take solace that all of us universally come to that same conclusive thought that what we saw was beautiful, and know that in order to find our Peace we must pursue those individual thoughts,
Perhaps a Pilgrimage is what you require Templar Vadam, a pilgrimage undertaken for the same purpose as all Faithful undertake their journey, for the same reason I did mine. Pray for guidance and you shall be answered. Each Amarrian's Pilgrimage is a deeply personal experience.

Of course. Pilgrmages are very spirtual things, each one unique, and whileI can only suggest places that held great significance to me......it will inevitably be your decision that directs the journey.....

I can honestly say I believe there will be an end to the wars, for the Scriptures says it so. By His Light, by His will. When that day comes when all God's children are reunited in bliss, I will disconnect my implants from my remaining clones, surf the shores of Xerah, Mehkios like when my life was much simpler, return to Sarum Prime V and pay my respect to my parents grave one last time, then await my last death of thousands. Only this time I won't awake in a new clone, but will awake with God in heaven.
