Now THAT'S a community!
Sad that there are so few though. Seriously CCP, I know that the commando is in a bad spot, but scouts have been waiting for a fix for longer than they have been around.
Not only that, but there are only like 6 commando's in the game.
Priorities?
Not trying to say that commando's don't need a buff (they do), I'm just feeling left out

TBH, you guys kind of relegated yourselves to being the hipsters of dust. If your not a full time scout then your not a scout, what's up it that? Your scout community is bigger than you think, I'll say that before you take it the wrong way.
I do agree some scout improvements would be nice. |

While I cannot speak for the scout community as a whole, my problem with what we would call "tourists" is that their lack of dedication to the suit means they often have more limited experience, or due to having other fits to fall back on, are unable to sympathize with us dedicated scouts who do not want to be forced into other suits and roles just to have relevance.
I would not mind the input and feedback of those who use scout suits on occasion if they understood the issues, and provided logical ways to solve the issues, with rational explanations (IWS is someone who is not a dedicated scout that I can think fits this descripton).
Nova knifing scout masochist. I would be a sadist, but CCP won't let me.

I bet you I can start a thread about omni soldier registry and it would have more pages than omni-soldiers on the grounds that people would just question the play style as being legitimate.

As a non-full time scout, I have found that the scouts in the registry have welcomed me with open arms.

The point is the fact that a community of under 200 players have stuck together and spawned the single largest threadnaught in Dust514.
We hate watching our suit become rapidly outsripped by everything else. We also just noticed how large the thread was, and someone noted that we have more pages than scouts now. It was a sobering thought.

I wish I could be in the scout registry even though I have literally ZERO SP into scouts. I only use the Minmatar militia frame and the dragonfly scout, but I gotta say, I am very very good with those suits besides the fact that they "suck." I run them 90% of the time because of their speed.

TBH, the concept sounds like a complete waste of time. Your skill set is, in theory, 1 or 2 steps better than base in everything and doesn't have anything that actually gives you an advantage over other players (proficiency, fitting bonus, etc).
On the real battlefield of Dust, you get smoked by EVERY player out there. The whole concept that good teams and squads win upon is specialization. There are heavies, logis, slayers, assaults, tanks, dropships, snipers, link layers. Spreading your SP out to cover all these roles makes you laughable in your ability to do any specific task.
Whatever makes you happy I guess...
So about those vehicle locks...

I kind of knew this, but was talking specifically about the choice to be an omni soldier with your SP and not specialize in anything. You are nerf proof I guess, but there are no clear advantages.

Huh? This is the first I've heard of this.... Even when the registry was active Shotty only asked folks to register if they ran scouts more than 50% of the time. I think for the most part the scouts I've seen welcome folks that run scout suits, whether it is part-time or full-time, and whether they are just starting out or have been scouts for ages.... and we always knew there were other scouts out there who weren't on the forums or didn't want to register.
As stated we don't like when tourists (typically someone who has no skills invested in scout suits, or the typical scout skills, and has no long term plans to run or skill into the suit) pick up a militia or faction/dragonfly suit and run it for a handful of games and then proceed to tell scouts that have amassed tens of thousands of kills that the suit is "fine" and they should "get good".
If someone says they are a scout and mostly runs scouts suits, even if they are just starting out and have no skills but if they have the drive and identify themselves as a scout; then they are a scout to me. I'd like to think many scouts also share this view.

Honestly, the Scout Registry makes me to sadden to keep up on it.
Seeing a group of knit players get treated like 3rd class New Eden citizens makes me depressed.
