i, like most people, have 2 ps3 controllers. when 1 dies, i switch to the other and charge the depleted one. i've noticed that my 1 controller acts funny with dust. it only started with the launch of 1.7.

when using that controller, my merc will stop and crouch suddenly, reload, and switch weapons. all without me telling him to. it's gotten me killed several times. funny thing is, it doesn't happen with the other controller. also, it doesn't happen with other games.

anyone else have this issue? anyone know what is wrong or how to fix it?

i didn't put this in "technical bugs" because i don't think it's really a "bug" from the game (since my other controller works fine).

 thanks for any help.

Yah, I used to have this glitch, but it would do a lot of other stuff too.

I would do al kinds of crazy junk. Then I finally just replaced that controller. Haven't had a problem since.

 open up your controller
take out the board (screw is bottom, middld)
pull off board (sticks are on back
you should see a plastic flap
push up flap and take out the piece of foam
wrap foam in 1 or 2 pieces of tape
put back foam and reassemble controller
 problem solved!

so is this a glitch or a controller problem? it is NOT a turbo controller (i don't roll like that). it is a standard PS3 controller.

why would this "foam" be the issue? would cleaning it be easier?

I didn't mean to insult or anything , but if you're using standard controller than you have the right to write a ticket for CCP... just in case...

Just an idea, but I was having major issues in beta and chrome. I posted a thread, and someone had the brilliant idea that I was having Bluetooth interference. So, I plugged my controller in. That fixed everything.

My controller was fine with other games, just with Dust did it do a bunch of weird stuff.

Something easy to try, if you have a cord.

the piece of foam helps regulate button presses so buttons dont press randomly
over time it becomes compressed and registers button presses that didn't happen
the tapes gives more layer to the foam to stop random presses
 no u cannot clean it
