In the little time you receive just as you've been downed and able to be picked back up why does it count as you've been killed? if your clone hasn't been "terminated" or basically you're not dead why then say you're dead? Not complaining just not seeing the logic in this, can someone fill in the blanks?

Because that would destroy the KDR and a lot of people really care about that and then you wouldn't get any WP for it so no SP and ISK. It would be horribly broken otherwise.

The terms 'kill' and 'death' are used leniently.
They are most likely substitutes for the clumsy expression 'down' or 'downed'.

I've wondered the same. In any other game with a revive mechanic, it counts as a death until you are revived, once revived the death is expunged.
In DUST it seems that regardless of you get revived or not, you still "died" so your death remains a stat.

I just assumed that every kill should have a death associated with it.
