Tanking is universal now, with militia, and standards having basically the same feeling, well I want to change that.
I would also kinda want to change the way you skill into tanks as well and hope the same system would be employed for dropsuits. For me I would go;
Vehicle Command
- Tank Command
- - Class Command
- - - Faction Bonus
Vehicle command would yield no bonus, Tank command would yield 1% Shield and Armour increase of some sort, and class & faction would have relevant bonuses.
So tanks would have 5 Classes
Militia These would be cannon fodder, and no more than weak rolling armour. Would have 2 module slots, a driver small turret and a secondary small turret slot. These tanks would also be prone to 50% infantry fire (all drop suit weapons).
Standard These would be a vast improvement on the Militia tanks having almost double the HP (shields, armour, depends on the faction), 4 module slots, a driver Large turret and 2 small turret slots. The driver has to have a large turret to support the possible second small turret. The tank will be prone to 20% small arms fire, 30% large arms (small being light and sidearm, large being heavy). The skill bonus would be for Tank command.
Enforcer These would have much more HP than standards, but have 70% small arms, 80% large arms damage vulnerability, and only 1 module slot. They would also only have 2 small turret slots, both for the driver, but no other passenger slots. The same UI will be used (so triangle would be used to change weapon), and same method of of viewing would be used. When changing weapon they can do so instantly but the weapon changed has to reload. The skill bonus would be for Enforcers would be increased reload time by 5%.
Bombardier These would have the same HP as their Militia counterparts, and essentially fill the role of a glass cannon. They would have 4 Module slots, and only their driver weapon (so Small or Large turret). These suffer next to no small or large arms damage (5% or so), but are prone to 120% AV* damage. The bonus to these would be 8% weapon damage increase along with 3% weapon effective range increase.
Leviathan This would be an salvageable vehicle in pub matches that can only be bought with LP and have the same slot layout of a standard but with proto modules and turrets, the layout of the actual preset equipment will be determined by the officer vehicle. This would have double the HP of a standard and use all the other classes bonuses, meaning it pays off to be a jack of all trades if you have expensive taste. The price of it though would be triple the price of a standard tank.
*AV would be Turrets, and dedicated AV dropsuit weapons like the plasma cannon, forge gun, and AV grenades. |
