No armor prepping, or plates. Just shield mods shield mods, and more shield mods. maybe a cpu chip.

used to in chromo with the type IIs and if i make it to get my master recruiter II that has far more enhanced shields than the regular suits so i would think it'd be worth it more then

I started a Caldari character awhile ago that does. Advanced Caldari Assault suit, two enhanced shield extenders, 1 enhanced shield energizer, 1 enhanced shield regulator, 1 CPU chip, and then advanced Rail Rifle, militia SMG, and either a compact nanohive or injector depending on what I'm feeling. Lots of fun to be had with only 2 million SP.
Jacques Cayton II also runs pure extenders/rechargers/energizers/regulators but at the proto level.

Shields, no movement penalty. I've tried feroscale plates but, less survival ability against nades, and I only have two slots.

As a Min assault, I shield tank but just can't do it as effectively as caldari and my play style puts me in real close. Many times i have found armor to give me just enough health to run or kill the enemy before he gets me. Most of my min assault suits have a cpu upgrade and armor in the lows. I think many people don't realize how effective a recharger can be. I dual-tank but shields have come into their own for me despite unnecessary penalties, but i still need some of that armor for insurance.
For a second suit i want to try caldari but im not sure. Anyone willing to share their proto caldari fit and how it performs in PC battles?

My CK.0 is for Shield tanking
My MK.0 is for Hit and Run Dual tanking (Mostly shields tho)
My AK.0 is for Blasting unfaith Matari SCUM

Mk0 assault long range
Highs - complex shields and 1 enhanced energizer.
Lows - 2 regulators best that possibly fit.
Rs90 cr with toxin smg.
Mk0 assault cqc
Highs - complex shields
Lows - 2 enhanced dampeners
Bk assault cr with toxin smg and m1 locus grenades.
Used correctly it works a treat but scr users will **** you but meh, I use these fits like a beefy scout.
Level 1 forum warrior.
Minmatar and Gallente fw.
I sold my wife and kids to the Amarr for isk, its a valid tactic.

I know I probably should stack plates on that proto suit but iv got my logi ak0 and caldari ck0 for other situations.
I figure if I'm putting plates on my min assault and lose some of rhat speed then I may as well use something else.

Done shields for so long. Only one month or so scrapped some less used fittings to make room for brick fits.

Never tried to seeing as how I have maxed out my armor but I have maxed out my shields as well , Thanks 1.7 , with all this talk I'm willing to try though .
I will be cursing you if this doesn't work though .
No damage mods and the charge TAX with the extenders , sounds like a no win scenario ... guess that's all the more reason to try it then .
I just can't for the life of me understand why CCP changed the shields .

Theory - Pre-emptive nerf because the released rifles that coincided with the release were armour sided damage. This was done to avoid a complete reversal of armour tank to shield tank, by making shield stacking less effective.

My alt is a Min scout, so yeah i run shield (and only have 70 armour)
