And it looks like we're still slowly diving towards a steady 2k. Edit: Get off the forums, you're cake. Cakes aren't allowed to post on forums. It's illegal. No were not? We were 4-5k like five months ago. We've been hovering at 3-4 k daily max for the last four months. Just last night we were only short by a few dozen to tipping 4k....... And when uprising came out we were just short of 10k. The fact that the game is this far after release and still holds almost half of its concurrent players is pretty impressive. You may have noticed theres zero advertisement for this game. That's because CCP is holding off on advertisement until they have a more presentable game. I have faith that as soon as they add PVE, and finnish off the racial suits (plus fix a few things like the new player experience) you'll see this games popularity sky rocket. Or at least that's what im hoping for I consider 4-5 months "not that long ago". Then again, I haven't played in the last month and half. I'll admit, I haven't been watching the numbers all that closely. I'm just saying that I remember a time when doomsaying was met wtih "We have a steady 5k". Then doomsaying was met with "We have a steady 4k". Now it's being met with "We have a steady 3k". Sure it's cool that Dust has held the number players it has, but there's still a pattern going on here.

Its just about getting new players to stay. CCP just needs to add PVE and a player market and im positive numbers would spike up instantly. Give people something to do OTHER then grinding SP in pub matches. FW was a good start, but without the player market it feels kind of empty. Even if there was a market, theres no "end game" items. They need to add more higher tier equipment that is harder and harder to either A.) sustain using, or B.) harder to find.
when the player to player market comes out the only items that are going to have any value/merit behind them is like 5% of the loyalty weapons and the officer weapons which still don't cover 75% of the weapons in game.
Its just content. People get bored doing the same thing over and over again. There needs to be a deeper side to dust. Loot/salvage from PVE, along with more specialty weapons, and higher meta level gear would in my opinion bring more people back and hold more peoples attention (along with a proper newbie training ground where they stay in it for at least two or three weeks before they get kicked out). But pshhhhhh CCP is investing in this game for the long term. Eventually all of that stuff will come. Just a little faith, and a little time. In words of John Henry Eden.

I hated PS2. Character development is shallow; you unlock the upgrade and you never play with the weaker version. There is no trade-offs to fitting things out. Blob, kill, die, respawn.... There is no real cost to death, vehicles are free, and only cost resources that replenish themselves... it's all totally meaningless. Take all of the objectives, go to bed, wake up and someone capped them back overnight. No growth. Twitchy shooting, shallow gameplay, mindless shooting, simplistic tactics.
DUST does need to get it's sh*t together, but the core game design is 1000x more interesting with unlimited customization, deep character growth, economic warfare, deaths having real cost and eventually a meaningful connection to EVE.

Oblivion by Bungie will be the number one cross platform MMO. It's not going to be easy to even compete with it. Even Sony developed exclusives are going to have a hard time getting anywhere against it. I like Bungie too, as they keep pestering me for a CV.

Been playing PS2 for quite a while and I never ever heard anyone on voice. Not to mention organized battles. There's absolutely no fun when you're playing from time to time IMHO. |

Dust may be in a bit of trouble with this being released very very soon. What are all your thoughts on the game personally? Just wondering if dust is going to survive this after all the time and money some of us have sunk into this game. Hundred of players PER SIDE .....PER AREA: Over 2,000 players per contentant. Here is the trailer first, the longer game play video is blow that.....Enjoy Trailer: (with coms and amazing teamwork) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKt1U7PSlioGameplay video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmwCqEOfmVk This is how PS2 should ook on the PS4 as stated by SOE:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDZ7ZgZnIrM
And now it appears to have been Optimised for 80% of PCs (due to different hardware) the PS4 Hardware is the same for all PS4s so therefore hardware issues are easier to fix So a massive improvement in GAMEPLAY compared to DUST which suffers MANY FPS issues
Even the Latest PS2 Trailer is better than the cheap cinematics CCP offer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41QFL4QB3NE

That content will all take time. And a lot of it. And I'm not entirely sure the current progression allows for that. Plus we all know what happened to John Henry Eden. He sure did a BANG of a job. His resignation sure was EXPLOSIVE. But who cares what I think.

I agree many of us more seasoned players have been through a lot of hell over the months especially when we came out of the academy yet we are still around. I personally am torn, and probably would end up still playing dust and PS2 after I'm capped out in dust lol. Seasoned players never came out of academy as academy didn't exist.
