I had some sp burning a hole in my pocket, so I thought I'd try a fresh look at logi vs assault suit.
Since I'm caldari, I tried caldari in both. I used LP points to get the ADV suits, even though I have only level1 skills in each.
It's worth noting that the caldari logi is already pre-nerfed, to some degree. The ADV logi and ADV assault, already have the same number of slots.
Even so... the logi is still a better suit for attackers in general: - Faster stamina recovery - Free 1HP/sec (or more, with more levels) regen - Getting to hold 3 EQ. So, nanohive, plus scanner - Can passively detect assaults, and even other logis if you have a few points in precision. In contrast, assaults cant even see other assaults, let alone logis
So, in summary, even with slot count rendered equal to assaults.. logi is still a better attack suit. But for non-caldari, logis are WAAYY better, since they get extra slots.
Ugh.

Downside of logistics: Slower movement speed Slower shield recharge rate No sidearm Less stamina (can't sprint as far for as long) Less base ehp (have to equip more modules for similar stats to an assault) Much more expensive fittings depending on equipment
Caldari Assault is definitely the better shield tanker

The passive scanning is negligible, since we don't share passive data on tacnet anymore, but the values should be switched on assault and logi.
Logis are slower, and have less shield recharge. Of course, this is not useful for armor tankers.
Logis should be more survival oriented than assaults, but assaults should be more damage oriented. Give assaults a role bonus to damage, or make the assault suit bonus be damage modifier instead of shield recharge.

We don't?
I tend to see red dots on the radar due to friendlies in close proximity seeing them, even if I don't see the enemies myself.
And it's not because of scanning, the radar flashes more when an active scanner is used. |

no how am i supposed to assault with bad hp bad regen and bad slots? no damage bonus, we have damage mods and proficiency, logis need to sacrifice tank/killing power for reps, hives, uplinks, scanners, assaults are for the FRONT lines, they take alot of fire

Slower movement speed - Barely noticeable (from 7 to 6.6 ...really?). Small price to pay to get up to 5Armor rep per sec. Slower shield recharge rate - 25 to 20. Easily fixed with extra slots. No sidearm -We all know this is not a problem.With the amount of Firepower Light weapons have,there really is no need for sidearm.This is not battlefield3 were a rifle has at MOST 21-30 bullets. We have rifles with 45-72-60 bullets and crazy damage output. Less stamina (can't sprint as far for as long)- The problem is: there really is NO need to RUN if you are a Logi. You will have higher EHP values than other suit variants (M;L) and faster than heavies. Dust514 only offers 2 kinds of maps. Big ass maps where you NEED to call in an LAV.And CQ maps were you wcan protect objectives that are 50-70mts away t most. NOBODY, will say Oh! i'll use the Assault over the Logi because it has 35 more stamina. LOL Less base ehp (have to equip more modules for similar stats to an assault): With the effectiveness of modules and the HIGH amount of slots,plus massive CPU-Pg originally intended for equipment, and innate Armor rep bonus(that saves you a VERY important LOW slot) WE ALL KNOW LOGIS end up having more HP than assaults.There are Cal Logis taht go all the way up to 1100EHP. There is NO way in hell an Assault Caldari can have over 900-1000EHP AND armor repair. Much more expensive fittings depending on equipment: Not important.Specially for mureder logis,that the only thing thy carry are active scanners and nanohives.
Please stop it with the Logis are equal to Assaults: GÖª Its BS. Logis are far superior than assaults GÖª No one cares, F' Med frames, Buff heavies and Scouts.

Never said anything about logistics being equal to assaults...just stating facts here about why you should run assault over logi. Besides, my last statement about caldari assault being better than caldari logi when it comes to shields is VERY true. It's the same thing for the Minmatar Assault. Maybe there is a difference combat-wise, but you just can't do the same things on an assault than you can on a logi.
Also, in case you don't know, I actually want there to be more diversity with skill bonuses and stuff to where logistics suits gave bonuses to equipment just as assault suits give bonuses to weapons (more like the amarr assault bonus to laser weapons). I'd love it if more slots meant more versatility instead of more tank too (i.e. stacking penalties for things like armor plates and shield extenders).

I think assaults need to be better at assaulting, and the problem is they are not that way now.
Assaults kill fine, but they can't be as survivable as the dual tanked logi can because of his extra slots and PG/CPU -- at least that's been my experience.
Assaults need to assault better -- somehow.
