Free Beers wrote: So let me clear up the joke/sarcasim since you seem to have missed it
I post a thread to bash ccp because ccp gave you credit for what kane was doing it with OB events. It's had nothing to do with you until you scrubby minions came in and defended you (which caused the thread to be about you). Turned into a threadnaught, then you posted your intentions to run for csm. Which made you look bad blah blah blah you pulled out of race.
So the joke, incase you missed is was I actually did nothing. I hate when i have to explain stuff like this is ruins the joke.
I did miss the joke here because the situation you're talking about isn't the reason for my drop of a EVE CSM run, so I didn't even think of it. Part of the reason was for what I stated and the other was that I was invited to partake in CPM0 in which I didn't bother with the interview. Also make's no since to continue to run for the one if asked to run for the other.
I'm sorry for the misunderstanding and don't think I have anything like that to worry about.

Once Dust can stand on it's feet and not completely collapse from a fall, then the elections should be held. I agree. My order of priorities would be:
- Get the game out of alpha.
- Get the game out of Beta.
- Ensure that the NPE is solid and enjoyable and that our numbers are growing.
Then we can do the CPM 1 thing.
I support SP rollover.

I have no problem with the current CPM members, I have a problem with how they were selected. The CPM is supposed to represent the players to CCP. A group chosen by CCP, by definition, cannot fill that role. I'd be happy to see plenty of CPM0 members in CPM1, but from the sounds of it, they don't actually want the job anymore.

Disagree. There was no other option at the time. I was not a fan of many of them but they were the right group to be selected and did the best they could.
CCP still has no idea how to do the voting and I would fully expect people to try and cheat the system no matter what

I understood why they were chosen at the time, but they were chosen to determine how to make the CPM work, not to be the CPM. Voter fraud is going to happen no matter what, you just have to minimize it best you can. They might do a war point minimum in order to vote, or maybe a tie to AUR purchases. Either way, it'd make it cost prohibitive to cheat in a manner significant enough to win. (In EVE, every account has a vote, so multiboxers have many votes. This is fair because they give CCP more money too, technically. So an AUR tie wouldn't be shocking in the least.)
And they simply haven't announced how they are going to do the voting, they may already know.

You are presenting your opinion as fact, which is incorrect as fact. I dont get why you are trying to discredit cpm0 here. They were selected to do the job of the cpm and that was there main priority. The election of cpm1 was just an additional task they were to solve along with ccp. The only reason the election discussion was front and center was to let the public know the selection of players were the exception to the rule going forward.

i'm running. I played eve for two years to get ready for dust, and I spend most of my time teaching dust players how to fly fast frigs in eve.
this is my killboard: http://eve-kill.net/?a=pilot_detail&plt_ext_id=90872475
I believe that pve should only be introduced if there is a non-consensual pvp aspect of it as that would keep it in line with eve.
I believe the current cpm is full of carebears who have never shown up in molden heath to fight me.

It's reasons like this to why I opened a Gaming Community Company. I wanted to help all those who put their personal time and effort in running things like corps for other players or participating in programs like the CPM to gain something in return.
I always believed that even though some players may not travel to tourneys, have the ability to stream or go "PRO" shouldn't mean they couldn't gain a sponsor for there work

Not technically on topic, but it's basically that exact same reason that I love the direction that some games have been going, that allow you to record and replay, even share your own matches. Stuff like that is amazing, because you're right, not everyone can stream, and even the worst of noobs has likely seen his fair share of crazy stuff.
I don't understand technology enough to really envision what DUST can actually accomplish on the PS3, but if it ever migrates to the next gen consoles, I can see it becoming obnoxiously intense. Features like that promote creativity and just socializing are really good for building actual cohesive communities.

I understand those jumping in with out much of a community name doing so. My advise to those is do more then just post I'm running and contribute to the community in someway outside of just stating what you'll do later on if picked.
