Argh, why is Dust missing again from the meeting minutes, especially for stuff that happened half a year ago :( I really hope that "Readers should expect it to be added very soon after the new year" is Soon not SoonGäó. I'm hoping for January |

Oh, and for anyone claiming that capsuleers don't care about Dust:
Quote: #12 GÇô allow implants to be recovered from corpses. The general response was best summarized by Ali Aras GÇô GÇ£ThatGÇÖs gross, thatGÇÖs awesome.GÇ¥ Ripard Teg pointed out that it would be the first step to making implants player constructible, and perhaps clones as well. Mynnna pointed out that new tools would be necessary, and the tools and materials could come from DUST.

Mynnna is a hero to all.
As a site note, Hilmar has demonstrated he has no idea what DUST needs to succeed, by downplaying, again, the importance of the EVE/DUST link.

Had the same feeling when reading that - seems like the vision for DUST was to appeal to the COD crowd. Hopefully this was half a year ago, but we'll never know until more of the minutes are published and/or CCP Rouge makes an appearance. |

As a note :
Hilmar actually dropped in for an unscheduled meeting, like the minutes say. The man cares more about his customers and community than any other CEO of any company I've heard of!
In the end though... He's not the guy making the decisions regarding DUST 514. He runs the company, and the day-to-day design goals are not something he's involved with. As the CEO, He and the board of directors basically just sign off on whatever plan is 'Sold' to them by the dudes who actually make the design and planning decisions. The problem is and always had been... the people who were making and selling those plans to the rest of the company were creating unrealistic hype and goals, which sounded awesome to anyone who heard them.... but fell far, far, far, short when put into practice. (if they were even done in the first place)
I am hopeful that after having numerous heartfelt meetings with the new EP (Who is the first person within CCP to actually talk about feelings and Ideas about subjects, rather than just try to "sell" us on whatever is coming next) That this vicious, unhealthy cycle without any real community influence in the past is going to change.
The new EP flat out loves the concept of working so closely with the community using the CPM. He's scheduled more than one meeting with us where there was resistance elsewhere in the company saying "No, we can't talk about that yet"... but the fact that the new EP holds the community feedback in such high value to the process speaks volumes to how he intends to move forward.

I appreciate your thoughts, Nova. I think we've seen in year's past where Hilmar has sold a lot of people on unrealistic expectations. In a way, DUST is it's own Incarna. I'm very excited about the few statements we've heard so far from the new EP.
I'd like to be your CPM1 candidate

You'd be surprised how many ex-Incarna devs/managers ended up doing Dust.
