so i just played a skirmish with a friend, we got red lined instantly by a squad of proto spamming warravens<<<<
when you are pushed to your own redline you should be at the advantage, you are at your own base, there should be trenches and tunnels and bunkers with extremely strong AV weaponry that cant shoot very far (as to not abuse)
once youre redlined the game is just **** and i dont blame the blue berries for leaving

Before 1.7 hit it was much easier to get out of your redline and reestablish your team on the battle field. Whether it was with dropships or LAVs. Now that you see 4-6 tanks on either team per battle (usually the team doing the red lining) getting an LAV or dropship to even spawn without being destroyed is nearly impossible. I admit I don't like being on either side of a red lining. Boring for the person condemned to his MCC as well as boring for the person trying to pick off kills from super long distances. |

i hate to say it but if warravens redlined you ya kinda deserve it.
Agree that redline should be easier to defend though. |

Yeah. It's kind of inevitable when I'm on a good squad and I'm not about to stop killing people in pubs for sportsmanship, but it's boring as hell. I like matches where we win by a small margin the best. Maybe 30% MCC armor.

Pull out a Heavy suit filled with damage modifiers, plates and repairers with a Rail Rifle or COmbat Rifle. Find a nice rock. Peak in and out of cover popping them.
That's what I do. Doesn't really work when they have an ADS ahead boosting in and out of the redline dropping missiles along with 3 tanks with RGs, though.

Also, the day 1.7 came out I enacted premeditated revenge. It was a 50 clone Ambush and I got 25+ kills against a squad of them, completely spawn camping them. Great fun.

Not everyone has endless ISK to burn, sometimes the situation is too helpless to even bother.
However, tanks are cheap enough now that I just give them the finger and deploy endless of them, provided they aren't getting popped on deployment.

really ive killed the pot head before and seen him in not proto gear..i always recognize a fellow smoker
why use suits when ccp gave us nice shiny op as hell tanks that cost next to nothing

I played a Skirmish match earlier on Manus Peak where the enemy had a couple of tanks so I pulled out my AV Rail Soma to pop them. I get one and then get gangbanged by a couple more, so I call in another one.
I use the strat map to look for enemy tanks to ambush, and while doing so I notice that I'm the only player on my team. Against a team of 12. I had teammates at the beginning, no idea where they went, though.
So I play it super cautious, using the map at every turn, and ambush another tank before my MCC explodes (it goes quickly when no one is contesting the null cannons).
For the last 10 minutes of that 15 minute match I was by myself. The other team was nothing but rail tanks and forge guns by the end, but I managed to finish 2/2, with only 1 tank lost.
I could have left, but I'm trying to cap out, dammit.

you also shouldnt be forced into a position where proto gear is required for a "chance" to win, especially when you barely make enough money in a single match to pay for one |

LOL, you mad bro? Im a Logi not a sniper, which is why I named my corp what it is. My BPO is so I can run do my death at no cost what so ever. Unlike many others, I'm not filthy rich in the game, I'm down to 60M. Once I get back to 100M I'll run out guns blazing in full proto gear. |

60mil is rich by this games standards most people in this game have less than 10 mil, then there are people from corps who have heaps of districts with a few hundred mil, then theres a few people like me who have been using stanard gear for every match since the beginning of open beta - but most players especially the new ones, are compelled to to use better gear just because they can instead of relying on their skills with a cheap suit to do good |
