At standard level the DPS is 508.75. If anybody has gotten it to shoot faster (without a modified controller) please share! EDIT: Spamning R1 actually lowers your DPS to 445 at standard level, in comparison a standard Assault rifle has 425 DPS.
I can pretty consistently get 18 rounds per second out of the gun.
also, spamming does not lower it for me.I go through a clip every time in less than 3 seconds. |

Lynn Beck wrote:Even with that super low DPS(which i think is wrong in a place or 2.) The CR will never be truly OP, as it only has 1700 damage per clip, whereas basic Gar has 2100. Rail rifle has 2300 and scr has (!) 3200. (Yes there's an OH mechanic, but even then it's 2300)
Damage per clip may be higher on the SCR, but what is the maximum sustainable DPS of either weapon?
Proto SCR with 2 dmg mods and max profieciency can do 1300 DPS for 1.6 seconds (2.12 with maxed amarr assault skill). That is between 2340 and 3250 damage. With the 5 second cool-down, you are looking at between 2340 and 3250 damage over a 6.6-7.12 second period. That means you do between 325 and 456 DPS.
Over that same 7 second period the CR can empty a magazine (2.7 secs), reload(2.21 w/ skills)., and empty mostl of another (33.8 rounds to 44.2 rounds). SO basically go throough between 87.8 rounds to 98.2 rounds. Thats is between 4407 damage and 4929 damage. That works out to between 667 to 692 DPS.
There is pretty much no way you can construe the Combat Rifle to not be the most powerful of the rifles, and it is not even really close.
Lowest fitting? check Fastest reload? check No overheat ? check Highest DPS without turbo? check (i.e you need to have turbo to get the max/close to max from a scrambler)
Anyway, I only ever see these threads when people know something is overpowered. You never see these threads about plasma cannons, nova knives, flaylocks, snipers, LAVs, non-gal-logi suits.
TLDR: If you feel the need to try to convince people of why a weapon isn't overpowered, it is overpowered.

You just need to not hit the button faster than once every 0.15 seconds. If you can achieve that, you will not be hitting the button to fast. |

Oh I forgot to confirm your part. I guess you can get controllers that can fire exactly as many times as you want per second. Pretty easy to program too. |

Oh believe me I do, I tried to make it clear earlier. The CR does WAY too much damage for the drawbacks (none). Actually all of the rifles do way too much damage, the CR is just the biggest offender. Oh and the SCR should have it's ROF capped at like 400 or 450.... 705 is only useful for turbo controllers. |
