Like a lot of infantry I have been having issues with 1.7 tanks. Not much seems to work against tanks except tanks.
But RE's on a fast scout seems to actually work. Softening them slightly with AV nades and then having a sneaky bro plant some RE's is actually viable. It does not require a whole dedicated squad of traditional AV to kill ( which is ridiculous ) , and actually gets results without gimping your squad against other infantry.
The scout in my corp popped 5 tanks in a match today with this tactic, the rest of us ran normal assault gear but with AV nades.
I am just trying to say it is nice to see a glimmer of hope at the end of this tank stomping tunnel.
ps. He forgot about one of the RE's he planted on a tank, it was triggered by someone else's grenade, he got the 150+50 tho. |

Jepp this works pretty well, you just need a distracted HAV Pilot and you need to be fast then you can do this solo. Another option is the so called Jihad LAV, slapp 6 RE's on the front and ram the LAV into a tank.
But I prefere the sneaky way a lot... |

I didn't read the patchnotes of the last 2 months in detail, but I read something about sticky nades somewhere ... Does this mean that REs (all kinds) stick to stuff now? |

Or you forge them. That works too. Get into a roof, toss a nade or two, begin forging.
150+50
PRO tanker and proud.
Number of PRO-turret HAVs killed w/ my permahardened MLT Blaster Gunny - 1 (so far xD)

Yeah that's the key factor sticky RE's and fast scouts. |

Yeah, but i was talking about a way to deal with tanks without having to change the way we like to play the game ( we don't have a dedicated heavy). |

When I was testing the Swarm Launcher to update my guide I was running SMG, Swarm Launcher, Remote Explosives, and Flux Grenades on a Gallente Scout suit.
My assessment was that the Remote Explosives + Flux Grenade (used to strip shield and detonate the RE) was probably more viable than the Swarm Launcher was. I could only equip the basic RE with my Proto Swarm though. If I ditched the Proto Swarm Launcher in favor of Advanced (4) or Proto (5) REGÇÖs I would probably have been more effective. Also AV grenades might work better than Flux. It depends on whether the Flux damage is applied before the RE damage when your Flux grenade sets off the RE.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else, there is the Learning Coalition.

Yes that's what i think to. Without the swarm you can carry a proper weapon to defend against infantry and still be effective against tanks with your RE's.
We all carry AV nades so hopefully someone in the squad can land a few to help out the RE's on the stronger tanks. |
