I originally went CR for the assault one but on my scout I can't sacrifice HP for damage mods, so it feels like it just shoots a million mosquitos, although I have seen it more recently in the kill feed but only on logistics players usin lots of damage mods.
Is it a good gun on its own or is it better to use the scope version? Cuz now I'm at proficiency 4 so I gave it another try last night an it seemed to just chew up people, but it's almost like you need a full clip per person.
But any other smg, ar, Rr, scr, seem to not have this issue

You will chew up armor tankers, shield tankers not so much. Sometimes I think the assault is better but I still use the standard more often.

The Assault CR is great for CQC if you have hives to replenish from. Use it like a fat SMG and tear up anybody that comes through a door. I keep one suit with them for defending objectives. For all other situations the regular CR is better.

It's a good gun, the DPS is 464 against the 467,5 of the AR, but with significantly better range and sweet accuracy. And better damage profiles, so the damage should be higher, actually.
The weakness is the clip size.
It's a very competitive weapon, with pros and cons compared to the AR.

Yea I tried it again last night an ate dudes up with it, but I mostly shot at the wounded, cr standard is awesome my main go too, but I find the assault isn't even comparable to my smg |

I didn't find it much better than the SMG. Comparable damage, ACR has a little better range but less rounds per mag. 200 rpm higher RoF. To me the differences aren't worth the cost. It's a decent trade up if you are a dedicated sidearm user and the IASmg is your weapon given it's slightly better stats, cheaper fitting and ISK cost.

I think I'm one of the few people that really don't like the CRs at all.For my play style,I just don't find them very effective. |

Thoughts? i just tried the aCR for the first time today and I can't say I enjoyed it. it burns ammo very quickly and wasn't a good option for the extra isk. I'm a scout as well so it could have been a lack of damage mod issue but I don't like it.

Two totally different weapons in their respective roles. I have both proto with prof5. The standard or burst variant is great at med to long range, I have only used the boundless twice and put it away, yes it's that good and I don't protostomp.
The advanced version is more than enough for just about anything short of a tank, but at close range "inside 20 meters" you better be a really good hip shot and land all your bursts and you'll be fine, if not you're a dead man.
The assault versions are fantastic as well, I use the bk42 on an advanced assault fit with one damage mod and on one of my logi fits with no mod so I have room for equipment. In it's effective range inside 30-40 meters I don't think you can go wrong.
As for the proto version the six kin? I put that one away too, almost unfair with only 1 dmg mod.

I use the assault combat rifle
the full auto is nice and a good few long bursts into most light or medium frames will kill it quick, heavy frames usually take a full clip or more to kill off with the massive buffer the heavies can have with armor plates
usually run logi with no damage mods.. toss in a few damage mods and it can chew through a suit pretty quick with the 1200 rounds per minute. |

Damage seems too low an the clip as well, an the kik seems greater than any other weapon, although I get the feeling it's got a sweet spot, like 30-45 m an like the smg it does wonders once the shields are down but getting 1v1 against anyone with full HP I find it rather useless |

ACR is like an SMG but with longer ranges. I was using it like this (in my Mk.0 scout): ACR + SMG Combo.
Close quarters= i use the SMG. If im out of ammo or he Clip runs out, i switch to the ACR. MEd range= I use the ACR.
I;ve always been an SMG user. THe ACR is in my opinion the SMG for longer ranges. It works, beautifully. I dont even have proficiency on it yet.

Ive taken a break after the patch, i was too used to the SCR for about 2-3 weeks and had issues letting go, so i took a break and un-learned some SCR-FU.
Ive come back today and used the Burst and Assault versions of the CR, on both guns ive been able to take out 3-4 people in a row without reloading and since it doesnt overheat when i mess up, i can ussually finish up any stragglers with the SMG.
Ive gone 58/3, 48/2, you name it, ive wen't it, went up against teams from corps like United Pwnage Service, Russion etc solo, and i gotta say these guys won't be sitting down for a couple of days.
I am torn between them though, its as if i equip the burst after using the assault, the burst feels much more powerfull, then i swap back to the assault, and then the assault feels vastly better then the burst, but then i grab back to the burst and well i get that same feeling again. Maybe if i swap them enough ill get to go over 9000?
PS: ive run both guns with 3 damage mods, 2, 1 and none and it made no diffrence in people dropping dead, if i do the same with the SCR it would heat seize on a heavy or bricklogi suit, with the CR, you just go through em.

the burst does like 30+% more dps and it is cheaper.
While there is no better place to be wealthy than the Gallente Federation, there is no hell worse for the poor either.

I run the assault and think its the best. I run it on several suits and I get a lot of kills. It depends on the player not the gear, so find what your are good at and use it.

The burst CR would be my weapon of choice if it wan't for that stupid ACOG. I can't wait for the day we can customize rifles, every ACOG rifle in the game is unplayable to me, and the assault variants of the RR and CR are not as good to me as the base.

I use both CR's depending on the role or map I'm playing
To me both are extremely good but require a good sidearm to either help balance the ammo cost or to lend a hand in CQC.
I love the versatility. If I'm on a more open map I will favour the burst for the extra range and punch. If I'm in an enclosed city map I favour the assault.
If im on a team lending dedicated logi support for a heavy I can use the burst to help down targets they can't so easily at mid range. While the bust works best for my scout in terms of outflanking and picking off targets of opportunity, the assaults low fitting cost is a blessing, while still giving me a weapon that covers mid range.
