Honestly, I know I need to getgud and admit I'm not great at FPS, but I cannot find a control sensitivity setting that feels natural on the DS3. It's nothing ... nothing ... nothing ... OVERSHOOT THE TARGET .... Rinse & repeat. I couldn't hit a target if I tried.
I get better results on MKB but would like to use a controller if possible.
Has anyone else had these issues and overcome them? If so, how?
I've recently tried a Gioteck controller but the results were even worse. In fact I tried two, both suffered from issues with wandering direction and felt laggy.
TL;DR - I can't get a bead on the target *cry*

Have you tried lowering sensitivity in options?
I also had the "OVERSHOOT THE TARGET " problem, because I run both Ds3 and Afterglow controllers. I have to recalibrate the settings when I switch. I found both to be to unstable but after messing around it works way better.

Try this
Run movement on a higher ratio and aiming on a lower ratio near 0. And calibrate from there. I found some weapons spray alot more and those are also the weapons that overshoot. |

Try to aim more by strafe aiming, than trying to move the stick. Try moving your hand away from the stick if you can and just strafe to get your target into the crosshairs. Even try it on inanimate objects at first. They rarely fire back!
Even once you get used to it, the aim stick is more like an adjustment to strafe aiming. |

This has actually helped quite a bit .. not for everything but it's made the game DS3 viable. |

I know those feelings of frustration lol. It took me about 3 months to finally be able to figure out how to aim decent in this game. After much work I finally got the hang of AR, but then right as I was getting over 40 kills a match CCP clipped the AR range, so now I've been adapting to RR. Still a work in progress but it's finally starting to move towards AR for me. Just keep working at the settings until you find one that works well. Even then you might still have to change it from time to time though. I know I do.

Also, don't be afraid to dial back sensitivity to 50 or under. It's much better to be accurate than fast. Once you get used to a particular setting, you can dial it up very slowly, one notch at a time, until you become accurate and fast.
