Things about dust that go past the weapons:
What is the 'cloth' of our armor made of, it has to be able to withstand extreme tempatures on our battlefields.
Can our dropsuits protect us in space?
Would we be able to be submerged for long periods of time?
How long does a clone live, is it possible for a clone to live for years or would it destroy itself over time?
How do armor plates work, why do projectiles no go through unarmored sections of the suit?
I wish to know so much, but there is so little information.

Definitely no "cloth" in our suits. When you go to a supply depot and change dropsuits the nanites destroy your current suit and use the materials to build you new suit around you. Which is actually a pretty cool idea IMHO.

I wouldn't say that our dropsuits have cloth in any part of the suit, even on the Caldari which emphasize minimum armor protection in favor of shields. I'd rather think that the suits use flexible metal alloys, or something similar to kevlar. It might not be as strong as actual armor plating, but it does give a lot of protection in itself.
As for if our dropsuits can survive in space or deep underwater, I'd say no. Our dropsuits have a filtration system to make toxic air breathable which would imply that the dropsuit isn't completely sealed. If you went to space, all the air would be sucked out from your suit and you would suffocate, and underwater you would just sink and drown in your incredibly heavy suit.
Clones are meant to be expendable, but as far as I know they don't have any massive genetic changes that would affect their lifespan too much. I'm the proponent of an idea that if need be, our dropsuits can be self-sufficient by directly injecting nutrients into your bloodstream to sustain yourself and eliminate the need for waste removal. You could probably live pretty long in a standard clone, as long as you didn't use an uplink.
And armour plates are just that, armour plates. They're some kind of incredibly strong metal that is also flexible, seeing how Gallente suits seem to be completely covered in the stuff. The unarmored parts would have the kevlar-like alloy as described earlier. I'll dig around a little to see if I can find any answers.
