i don't think that the HMG is OP, but i do think that if a gun that powerful is not OP, then none of the guns are. you may disagree wih me, if so, feel free to argue why, but think about it. how often do you turn a corner into a rail rifle and die before you can blink, no matter how tanky your suit is?
this is why until i see a good counter argument to this (not just some insult or pointless one line comment), i'm done comlaining that ANY of the guns, even the Assault RR are OP.
i had this epiphone today when an HMG delt 1060 damage before i could turn.
I'm just bringing up points. You can make them out to be whatever.
HMG's range is restricted along with other capabilities that makes it less versatile than the rifles. It deserves to do a massive amount of damage in CQC, especially since that's what it's made for.
The true adversaries of a HMG user is speed and range. If you're fast enough, you can dominate a heavy but you're still vulnerable however if you're still viable while being out of their optimal range(aka having a range advantage), you will usually win.
As a Gallente, if I turn the corner into a Rail Rifle's sights, I'd die in 5 seconds or less. I would literally need a proper snap reflex to survive. If it was a Combat Rifle's sights it would be just the same maybe a second less and, mind you, the Combat Rifle's optimal range means that they could easily be right around the corner behind me, even outpacing me in the common fit. Scrambler is a one shot depending on the specs of the fittings, and ARs vary although their speed and ammo makes them capable of sustaining domination of a PVP for a long time. And then there's the HMG which is built to demolish all other players in CQC. The best weapon to use against a HMG is the Combat Rifle thanks to it's speed and ability to melt through armor.
I really can't tell if the TTK is too low right about now because I'm so used to it now. If they raise it by only a few seconds then sure, but an extra 10 seconds is overkill in my opinion.
