I was looking at this mostly out of curiosity and saw some things that confused me.
According to CCP the TacEd is $19.99.
According to Sony the TacEd is $4.99.
I see that the TacEd comes with some combination of 450 (prefit?) dropsuits and vehicles, 2,500AUR, and a 7-Day active booster and you can only purchase this once per PSN account.
Has anyone purchased this? Is it $20, or $5? What exactly are the dropsuits and vehicles and (how) are they fit? Is it correctly labeled as once per account? |

Weird, I don't see a mention of a sale anywhere on the Sony Store site. But that explains it.
As far as it being a gyp, I'm thinking that about most things. Based on the Battle Kit ($1) compared to the Battle Kit w/ 1-Day Active Booster ($2), I'd say the 7-Day Active Booster in the Tactical Edition for $5 is worth it compared to the other options available for Boosters, plus you get the 2,500 AUR and pre-fit dropsuit/vehicles. At $5, I would put this solidly in the realm of "Sure, if you've got spare cash consider it. Why not?" |

Incidentally, when I look up the purchasable content for Dust 514, I don't see the Tactical Edition listed. |

Honestly, the math says that buying aurum and getting the 3 day active boosters is the most effective and cost saving.

I did end up purchasing the Tactical Edition. I figure if anything, a 7-Day booster (7,000 AUR) would generally be about 3.50 USD on its own, so the rest is bonus. I haven't had a chance to look if the dropsuits/vehicles are pre-fit, but I got the following items;
2,500 AUR 1 active 7 day 50 kaalakiota recon dropship 50 creodron breach hav 50 lc-217 saga 100 mauler sentinel a-1 100 shock assault 100 hunter scout g-1
I also figure the USD equivalent of each item based on the AUR price of the 7-Day active booster, 7,000 AUR, and the price of AUR without bonus AUR in the Sony Store. 2,000 AUR is 1 USD. (I round up. 1.99 is ridiculous. Let's all just call it 2.)
So the 2,500 AUR is 1.25, the Booster is 3.50 leaving all the vehicles and dropsuits to total 0.25 USD.
The Tactical Edition is a once per account purchase, and while it's on sale for $5 I highly recommend it. If you've never spent any money on Dust and will only ever make one small purchase ever, this is the purchase I recommend while it's on sale. |

I had no interest when it was $15 but I bought it when the price changed to $5. I figured it was worth it for the vehicle hulls alone. I did have to search to find it on the PSN store since it didn't appear under the game itself.

Good point Reav. I couldn't find it in the PSN store either. I found it from the "Buy Now" link on the DUST website. I'll link the PSN store site for the TacEd in my OP. |

Do want to make sure this gets some visibility since CCP doesn't seem interested in any kind of advertising for this. While this package is on sale, definitely purchase it. |

However, the cost of buying 4 3 day active boosters and one month of passive is more than the bundle cost for the 30 day active and passive.

The suits are GARBAGE. Why fk up your KDR for milita gear? Spending even a dollar on this again,LMAO. I would'nt pay a dollar for it. They fked me over enough. Bought 500 aur proto swarms, nerfed. 500 contact nades, nerfed. Had they of refuned, I would have spent a lot more. Half the aur gear is overpriced.

The only two things I would want is the ships and tanks just for diffent colors. All the gear is milita making it pretty much worthless. Milita ships 30k. Milita suits 5k. $5 real dollars is worth 50+ mill isk.

Only use them on shotgun suits for a quick getaway. Just save the swarms if they buff them again. I personally will get it for testing out dropships.

I don't put all my eggs in one basket like that, though
So far the only thing I'll be spending money on is AUR, Omega booster deals, and sales like this. The only thing I'll be spending AUR on will be Boosters.
I broke down how I estimated the cost of each item worked out to be and think this is a good deal. The AUR and 3-Day Active Booster alone are worth $5 based on 2000 AUR to 1 USD. Use the garbage suits on a new character when it has no skills.
I don't care about my KDR. I'm terribad, but I have fun. |
