I took a MLT Sica out or whatever its called for the first time ever the other night..... im not a tank user so please forgive me....but I wondered why this guy kept on driving his LAV in to me..... did not seem like a problem....... shield just recharged before he did it again... I sat in the same place all match near there redline he must of done it 5 or 6 times....
Does it make a difference how many they put on??....... I might start doing this, it sounds fun....
I specked in to RE's the other night to....Can I use my BPO LAV for this then????? :)

Shields are resistant to explosive damage, so you'll need more than just three to take out most tanks, or wait until someone disables their shields.

Just to be sure..... is it the Proximity Explosive or the Remote Explosives you use???.....
And slap them on the front I take it.....
And wait till shields are down right got it .......

Remote Explosives. If you skill high enough you can place a lot on the front. If you have friends, get them to help; level 1 Explosives skill is cheap!

Up to level 3 just wanted to make sure I was going to stick the right one on... I thought it would of been the PROX EXP... cheers

I see no problem. It's an interesting tactic which should be allowed to live.
It's good because it's not too easy to do:
You need some preparations, some free time after spawn and finally you can be killed on approach. Even with light arms you can transform into fireworks.
Tank spam getting onto your nerves?

You're assuming that REs sticking to friendly vehicles was a bug. I get the feeling this is an intended mechanic.

you can complain about jihad jeeps when tanks cost over 200k as a base price. Right now jihad jeeps are one of very few options we have for AV. |

Secondly, here are two even better ideas on how to "fix" Jihad Jeeps:
1) Give us infantry-based AV that actually works
2) Give us price tags which discourage tank spam

Agreed 100%. I love my Jihad Jeep. And I don't see a problem with them since if you load a jeep up with REs yourself, you're as vulnerable as possible. 1 shot from a blaster, or just a few rounds from an AR can set off your explosives, vaporizing you. I lost 4 jeeps to 1 tank last night, before I finally got lucky and caught him by surprise. |

They really don't. Unlike exploits players have used in the past, there's no indication that this isn't working as intended. I can activate a grenade and run kamikaze into the middle of a group of reds if I want. And I can jump out of a tank while someone is attacking me and kill him with an assault rifle. Do these tactics "need fixing?"
Suicide LAVs are more effective and require less specialization than standard AV in an age where tanks dominate the map. That is the only way in which they need to be "fixed"--a specialized role should always be more effective than a versatile one (which, incidentally, is the same reason AV should be more effective at destroying vehicles than vehicles are). Otherwise the specialized role is, by definition, useless. |
