Reading all those threads about "OP tanks" and uneffective weapons to use against them, pointed out how the situation remains extremely unbalanced.
Yesterday, for example, I joined an Ambush where the enemy was patrolling the entire map with 5 tanks. Of course I left the battle.
Ok, that was probably a "limit case" but still it's clear that how tanks with ADV or PRO outfit cannot be eliminated easily.
And then people started asking for special RE to use only against tanks, and this quickly lead tank users to express their total disapproval.
But let's face it, Swarm Launchers deal very little damage, AV grenades sometimes don't detonate and the Forge Guns cannot operate in the middle of the battlefield unless they're heavily protected from enemy infantry. Of course the best idea was to use the Remote Explosives, but I've seen to many tanks surviving 6~8 RE placed on the ground or even when planted directly on the enemy tank.
TL;DR: current AV weapons are not effective, but buffing RE could unbalance the game, so read on:
While I assume most of tank pilots are not unexperienced players, I understand it may be difficult to spot the mines every single time, so I came out with an idea: a MINE-SWEEPER.
This vehicle automatically destroys every RE it finds right in front of him, taking very little to no damage.
I considered something like THIS
Now, I already see people raging like "WTH is this?" or "Why on earth would I drive such a useless thing!?" and so on, and here I have the answer: it serves as APC (Armored Personal Carrier) too, allowing you to safely bring troops to the FEBA and clearing the path to the rest of your armored vehicles, which can advance along with you providing all the cover you need.
The base model comes with a Light Turret for personal defence and 5 passenger seats (total guests = 6)
The Assault model comes with 2 Light Turrets but only 2 seats (total guests = 4)
I had this idea also looking at the loading screen, where there is a "Mid Armored vehicle" which does not appear anywhere on DUST.
Please share your thoughts people.

I think that is pretty much what a MAV is going to do when they add it. If I remember correctly the MAV is going to be a support vehicle so it is possible that it will be able to do all of what you posted and more support oriented stuff aswell.

MAV are currently scheduled to be implemented after we get PvE, full racial suits and functioning scouts.
So tell your kids about them, because they'll be the ones who get to play with them.
