I have been thinking on ways to counter tanks that would be effective and already in game.
the MCC has a large rail gun ( or missile launcher ) on the underside of them that currently does nothing, why not make it available for use with a certain amount of WP accumulated?
I know with balance it would be an issue to make the WP amount low enough to justify working towards it, while not making it the new super stomp weapon of the month.
so to limit the overuse it could be set to allow the squad with say 1500 WP to 2500 WP accumulated to have access to the fire control system on the MCC.
the turret is unlocked and available for say 2 minutes from the time a squad leader opens the connection to the system. It also only gives a small amount of shots before reload (say 5-10 for a general idea). the reload would then cause the connection to the turret to be disconnected. each blast can do 5000-10000 hp of damage and requires a 5 second lock on (so yes it can shoot down drop ships)
the lock on can only be for vehicles and structures and not infantry.. orbitals would still be used to cut down infantry.
this is not an anti-tank rant.. but it is a constructive option to remove tank spamming, red line rail tanking and would make for a more exciting game for both vehicle users and the infantry running around. |

Already suggested, I believe, but it will be exploited to hell. Currently, the ONLY reason for existence of the MCC turrets at all is to shoot at the other MCC. Maybe if Skirmish 1.0 was back?
