Hey guys, this is my first honest attempt at trying to earn a blue tag. I'll keep it short and sweet: Transport Light Armored Vehicle, or TLAV.
I would LOVE it if, instead of fitting a turret to the back of my LAV, I could swap it out for a troop seat. Call it a Squad Transport Module or something. Take out the turret, put in a bench seat on either side of the bed of an LAV. Justify the CPU/PG cost by including troop "shielding" that simply makes the hitbox of the LAV rise up to the bottom of a dropsuit's neck level to protect the troops being transported a little bit, but still allowing them to be shot or sniped, or even for a REALLY skilled or lucky grenade tosser to lob a grenade in there and kill the lot of them. Make it accommodate two troops at lvl 1 skill, for a total of 4 mercs riding passenger, 3 troops at lvl 3 and 4 troops at level 5 for to transport a full squad in a single LAV. It could require skill lvl 3 of LAV operation.
I think it'd make a juicy target for a savvy AVer, and an awesome mechanic for good squads on the move, without wasting two LAVs toward the team quota.

Lol, I have the H.I.S.S. And the F.A.N.G. And I wanted the Rattler. Most of the others though are after my play time. Jeez, they got crazy with the vehicles. Pretty desperate. I guess G. I. Joe pretty much jumped the shark after I got out of it. That toy line really grew long in the tooth.

Don't you think the "gay little turret" reference fits the small turrets on a tank so perfectly?
As much as I love G.I. Joes (which I think I can be NJP'd for, being that I'm a Marine), I really want to discuss my idea. I'm super excited about it, and I REALLY want to know what you guys think, and with any luck I might get a DEV to stop by and tell me what he thinks. I'd kill to know if this is would be an easy thing to code, or a difficult task. It SOUNDS simple, but only a real Dev could give me the down low on how possible it would be.
This is as excited as I've been about DUST since I first started playing, as cheesy as that might sound. Lol |

Some ago I thought about the "missing" MAV, and I thought it could be a mine-sweeper AND a troop-carrier, kinda like the old APC or the newer Stryker.
The mine-sweeper part was taken into consideration because all tanks are given an inside minefield detector, which some consider OP.

I still have all of my old G.I.Joes pack away in a storage unit. I had pretty much all of it, Aircraft Carrier, Terror Drome, multiples of nearly all of the figures (some left intact and some left wounded and bleeding red nail polish that I stole from my mom for precisely that use), I had so much stuff that it takes up nearly 50% of a 10'x10'. I kept them because I wanted to play with my sons with them when I had kids, now I have sons who I'm not letting touch them cause I see how they treat their toys.
On Topic:
Yes, please, it would be a great addition. Lighter than a MAV for rapid deployment though less protected and less capacity as well.
