They do, and it is very painful. It has no gameplay impact however, it's just a piece of neat lore.

The doped slugs make sense for the toxin SMG.
The plasma rifle however...not really possible.

Probably just their outside plating is toxic. Though given that we are in Dropsuits, chances are that we aren't really affected by it, people without dropsuits would suffer some pretty bad damage from contact with it.
At least that is my theory; they are made out of toxic metals.
I only say this because I fail to grasp how plasma can be toxic.
