Remove all of the " Godmode " talk and the complexities of the economic side of the Militia v.s. Standard argument . I am now content with the performance of tanks and the skill tree as well as the engineering side , I mean ... what ..???.. it's not like I have any choice now do I ?
What is easily noticeable for me though , is the lack of variety in the actual fittings department . Being Caldari and having use of a Sica or a Gunnlogi now is much easier , they have their strengths but their weaknesses still make them far more inferior than a Soma or a Madrugar .
We use to have shield stabilizers that lessened a blow from adversaries as well as made it so , when you moved over rough terrain your shields wouldn't take a massive amount of damage . Before 1.7 it was a problem just moving without taking damage to shields , I haven't given much attention to the situation now but for a Caldari , the use of shields ( which are such a problem for us in the world of Dust 514 ) are a major priority . There were also programming mods that gave a slight boost to shields and shield charge times and again , they were removed . No variety in the armor mods as now you only have two choices in each class when before you had more of a selection , basically what I'm getting at is the fact that , no more will I or do I have to REALLY worry about what a person has " under the hood " so to speak because there are not that many choices and now I will see more commonality in tank fittings . To me that's boring and maybe that's just me but I liked that part of the experience of tank use , more than anything else and that gave me a more personal since in ownership of my tank .
I used the mention of previous mods as a example of the fact that others used those mods and they actually served a purpose that equaled customization and functionality .
Slots are missing as well . I know that's obvious but what I mean by that was the customization that was given my the slot lay out .
They should go back to the slot layout of 1.6 meaning , Soma's with one on the low side and Sica's with one given back to their high side . Gunnlogi's with one back to the high side and Madrugar's with one given back to it's low side .
Soma ( Two high slots and Three low slots ) Sica ( Three high slots and Two low slots ) Madrugar ( Two high slots and Four low slots ) Gunnlogi ( Four high slots and Two low slots ) Vayu ( Three high slots and Four low slots ) Caldari Enforcer ( Four high slots and Three low slots ) and so on for the Prototype tanks . They ( Prototype Tanks ) could have four slots on each side .
Since there are no customization by and with the general use of mods , this should actually bring a greater experience in tanking with the cool down times of the actual mods this will also limit their ability to be a " to end all " exterminating force on the battlefield until you get to the prototype tanks ... but then that should be the purpose of those to begin with anyway .
With all of the hoopla about tanks , tank driving is more boring then it was in 1.6 and before . There is really no customization apart from the sill points placed into the turrets for weapons or the mods but other then that there isn't much variety and this might just take vehicle usage to the next level . The LAV's need the slots that were taken away from them as well .
Mods that actually served a purpose taken away , Slots taken away that gave functionality and diversity as well . There are more people using tanks now then before and I actually like it and to me , was what was missing from the previous patches and now you ( CCP ) have a chance to make this right .
Bigger maps mean more potential for epic battles . Full assignment of racial gear with respec's will give it a start on it's path to greatness . Some people complain about the map size but if used properly this could help to be one of those things that places this game over the top and keep it there .
Being boring by placing limits of staleness and giving players no variety in fittings could just keep it above water in mediocrity .

Increase the swarm range and unhinge the forge guns revamped charge times . Create a forge gun with a lock on function where it lock's on to a vehicle only but still could be used against infantry ( no lock on to infantry ) and give that lock on range a range in between the previous swarms and the 1.7 swarms , with the charge time three seconds more than the 1.7 forge guns .

Now when your finished with the racial suits , you can finally begin to sell the racial packs of items ... instead of how it's mixed now and give the people what they want . I have seen where the people have voiced their opinion about having " too much Caldari " ( me .. of course , I don't mind ... but others .. don't blame them though .) and not having a choice . I can understand while I would love to make use of the Caldari scout ( * with a 5% shield modulator efficacy per level and a 2% recharge rate increase per level ) and heavy ( * 5% shield recharge rate increase per level and a 2% armor modulator efficacy per level .) it will be a great day indeed .
* Those are not the official numbers and have nothing to do with any of CCP's plans .
Please CCP make this happen soon .

You would not find a bigger skeptic than me ... trust me , I didn't even want to speck any skill points into vehicles while now finding the set up of the current skill tree so much more simple now . You don't have to go threw the individual races to acquire the individual race's tank and that's a big difference . I just went into this whole ordeal feeling like , " If they have the nerve to change what peaked my interest then I will show them by not putting forth any energy towards these changes . " but now after looking everything over I can't be mad at what was done . I really miss the mods that were taken and the fact that they look boring with most people driving tanks without variety .
It was boring in 1.6 as well because there just wasn't many people using tanks like you have now , even though most might not stick with it now but with the use , we might not have the bad turret gunners that were a problem in the last patch . Now maybe since more people use them , they will have a greater understanding of ownership while manning someone else's turret . It was bad with most just riding and shooting at everything other than a threat to the tank and it's crew .
I'm not asking for shinny , I'm just asking to fix what was undone and this is not like slots would bring the unbalancing and boring nature of the tanks as they stand now . With all of the NEW tankers , this would make their experience much more enjoyable and bring back something that the previous tankers might miss about that class . LAV's are the same too .
