Ahh thanks, I just have not seen any news or proposed patch notes yet is why I asked. 1.7 was mentioned and talked about before 1.6 was released lol. Again thanks. |

I'd guess 1.8 is coming somewhere mid-January or late January, since the Christmas breaks delayed things a little

So tthey all get off work? That's wrong no business fully shuts down if it does it loses millions. CCP can't afford that money to go to waist especially since dust doesn't have a big income

They have fired people from Shanghai since they can't get their kittens together. They can't afford a big break imo. Of anything they need to do something to get the playerbase up but that would involve listening to the community which they don't do.

Not respecting important holiday breaks is a US business concept. I doubt that would go over well in Shanghai.

Even when its not the holidays, CCP is known for taking long breaks/vacations.
They are Europeans, thus don't have the American work culture

Just because the Devs are getting holiday time, doesn't mean the Dust division will be completely closed. More than likely, some of the community team will still be checking the forums and monitoring the servers for major problems. Other than that, there is absolutely nothing wrong. Lots of companies close for the holidays with only emergency services operating (just monitoring products for critical failures and such). The company I work for is part of the upper regions of the fortune 500 list and everyone stateside (and perhaps our foreign workers as well) is guaranteed to have Dec 24th to Jan 1st off as holiday time.

So five people got a break and one stayed back to hold down the fort.. ? In all seriousness I wonder how many people actually work on Dust now vs initial "release"... |

What? No company is truly closed for the holidays that's just dumb look at all the stores that were open on Christmas all the only companies that can afford to close for the holidays are Big businesses that outsource most of there goods.

One advantage to having one calendar for business and another for traditions. The second thought was Fanfest is coming in May. To some unknown degree that will effect Dust, one factor being what they want to release during Fanfest verses what can still be gotten out before.

Stores can't as people still need things during the holidays. If a store did close for an extended period, a competitor wouldn't close and they would get those sales.
Companies that develop and/or produce products are more free in when they are open or closed. Companies that develop products can set up project completion dates to factor in holiday time so it isn't a liability for their development cycle since a few extra days isn't really a concern. Companies that produce products can ensure they meet their order requests before the beginning of their break and ensure the next delivery date is far enough off that they can fulfill it after the break has ended. Most don't close for more than a couple of days over Christmas but that doesn't mean they aren't able to.

I'd say it's more likely this, I used to work with a Chinese manufacturing company and during the CNY all of our lead times for products got pushed out a good two because so much of the country shut down during it. |
