With tanks in their current iteration, infantry combat is no longer fun because infantry is totally outclassed in price, longevity, mobility and firepower by HAVs that are not much . I propose that any one of the following suggestions could return the fun to infantry.
1. Buff AV back to 1.6 levels 2. Remove tanks entirely 3. Soften tanks to 1.6 levels, leave the AV nerf 4. Remove ability to stack hardners 5. Remove the large blaster turret 6. Introduce the ability to immobilize tanks 7. Massive tank price increase 8. Require seperate Driver and gunners for tanks 9. Make tanks AI controlled. Bought, fit and called in by infantry controlled by Scotty, with a loose set of instructions given to them when they are called in (atk objective, defend objective, anti vehicle ops or anti infantry ops) 10. Tie all tank active modules to one switch, either all on or all off... this eliminates being able to rotate hardners for constant resistance 11. Some sort of game mode without vehicles

All of these are bad ideas. Most are terrible.
What's the difference between an immobile Minmatar ship and a pile of garbage?
The pile of garbage is more lethal.

just sit tight and wait for the nerf. until then play indoors or learn to kill tanks. it's not hard either way. |

You're barking up the wrong tree. Tankers got a taste of near-invincibility, and it has corrupted them beyond reason. They are some of the most ignorant, contradictory players, with severe delusions of grandeur. People say taking out tanks should be doable without relying on luck or coincidence, all they hear is that it should be "easy". They say it should require teamwork to take out a tank, but not to drive it, shoot from it, and operate it's systems. They say "just get a tank yourself" even though AV weapons are supposed to be the rock to the scissor of vehicles. The fact is, vehicles were a little weak and/or AV was a little strong before, but now instead of being balanced, they're just pushed the far opposite end of the spectrum. They're too durable, deadly and fast, even in the hands of less skilled drivers, but the tankers think if they all yell loudly and incoherently enough that their ranting will drown out the reasonable requests for actual balance. |

I still don't get it why tanks shouldn't need a driver and a gunner. If it took two people per tank the spam would be half as bad and it would be twice as fun every time one gets killed. Tying up 2 of 16 would also make it a more tactical decision to roll a bunch of tanks. It is fine to have a single person be able to fire the main turret but it should require two people to aim the turret independently.
Right now tanks are basically just god mode dropsuits that can't fit into doorways. They are cheaper, faster, have more firepower, and survive better than running around on two legs. |

im not a tanker but even i am getting tired of people b*tching about tanks in the forums
tanks used to be very easy to take out people where wasting between 600k to 1.5mil on tanks for someone with a 7k weapon to take them out i think tanks deserve this break though all the sh*t they been though on this game
though i agree CCP should never have nerved the swarms damage the way they did its over and done with
the fact if people still want to solo tanks which is not gunna happen
so let me get this into your skulls theres something on this game that a few decent corps know about and most dont its called TEAM WORK
2 to 4 people can take a tank easy its not difficult here are a few ways how
a logi can load a LAV full of explosives and drive into the tank there for destroying it its cheap and effective but does require you to lose your own life
have 1 swarm launcher shoot at the tank while he has the tank distracted have someone lay explosives on the road behind it then the other 2 wait for the repairs and hardeners to finish then they swarm the tank causing the driver to panic and drive backwards over the explosives and BOOM its destroyed
of if you find yourself on your own stay inside wait for someone to come and distract the tank and make a run for it there for avoiding tankers all together
its all about using your head to outsmart the tanker granted most of you don't quiet know what a brain is for but some do
stop your whining learn and learn teamwork i promise you your gaming experience is going to be a lot better |

Makes Proxies do 2500 dmg.
Give swarms 1.6 dmg, but leave them at 1.7 range. Buff AV nades back to original 1.6 values. Also introduce a crawl effect. Vehicles under 1000 armor HP will get a 60% hit in movement speed for 15 seconds even after repaired. Give infantry Enemy Asset Damage points. 35 for every 1000 ehp dmg dealt to enemy installations or vehicles. That way if you have a tough tank that won't go down, you might get a bigger payout for just keeping him busy.
Give infantry some kind of E-war grenade that purges all active modules on the vehicle. Then we'll have some balance.
Tanks are cheaper so pilots aren't complaining when they lose them. Most call in another. Oh but for the love of bacon, bring drop ship prices down to vehicle costs. CCP made it possible for tanks to profit, but shafted drop ships again.
Dead on the ground.... Think I made a wrong turn :/
