I'm a little bored at the moment, so I figured I'd throw this thought I randomly had out here.
CCP's matchmaking system is actually FAR more advanced than any of you could comprehend.
Let me break this down for you: this game, at its core, is about killing people. Yes, there is a meta, there are objectives like hacking that don't require killing, etc. but let me put it this way. If you aren't good at killing people, chances are you won't have fun with this game.
So now that we've confirmed that this is a game about killing people, we can truely comprehend how efficient CCP's matchmaking system. In a game where the main objective is to kill people, CCP manages to fill an entire team with people that don't know how to kill people.
Every game I've played today has either been my team red-lining the enemy, or the enemy red-lining my team. In one game, the kill-board showed the best person on the losing team went 1/3 (he had low WPs so he wasn't a logi), and the best person on the winning team went 31/1.
It is truly amazing how CCP manages to put the worst people in a group together consistently.

It has mostly to do with low player count and a joke of an academy. If i start a new toon, i complete the academy in one match. I get thrown into a match, with other guys like me, against full squads (im new remember i have no one to squad with.) So they play a few games and quit, thus reinforcing low player count. CCP doesnt need to fix matchmaking, its fine. They need to fix their new player experience. New players ruin the game for vets, and vets ruin it for new players... shouldnt we find a way to seperate them a bit? |

Which is exactly why we need a Militia and or Standard stuff only game mode. That way noobs have a bit better of a chance AND they can get into games right off the bat instead of the joke academy that has only 1 game mode and barely had a squads worth of people on each side most the time. (At least that has been my experience with academy matches and I know the other day a new guy had a thread up commenting on this exact thing) |

I agree, people who whine about the matchmaking are clearly just rabble rousers.

It's like I've been saying, people should be allowed to play in the academy until they have 15,000 WP. This gives them time to learn the game and the guns. Anyone with ok gun game and a half witted mind can get 1500 wp in a match easy so it's ridiculous to have such a small limit.

Matchmaking takes all players into account and seperates them into (semi) equal teams. Good, bad, and ugly (some of you bastard are REALLY ugly.)
What im saying is take the bad out of the equation. So you are only "matchmaking" the good with the good, bad with the bad (dont care where you uglies fit in.)
Say we extended the academy to 2m sp before graduating. Would this not seperate alot of the bad from the good BEFORE matchmaking even took place? |
