I love my first gen official PS3 headset with 5.1 surround
you can find them pretty cheap now around 50-80$
their pretty much noise cancelling
volume controls for both in game and chat also a master volume
wireless and wired
I can go about 30-35 ft before distortion
quick charge and great battery life
imagine the s#!t you can kill from a throne.... fu@#!n Rome.

Get some high quality German headphones, something like Beyerdynamic DT 880's (Neutral Sound, semi open)
Get the 32 Ohm Version, then buy the Astro Mixamp, the one that turns Surround sound into virtual Surround sound for your Headphones.
Then Buy a High Quality Mic separate, then either Mod that to your headphones, or just Glue it. Make sure the headphones are able to correctly exert enemies found from the back (center), the DT880's have trouble reproducing Center sound, but some other brands don't have issues like this.

There are a lot of engineers on there, they know what they are talking about.
Get 32 OHm so you won't need an amp. |

Logitech sells some pretty top-notch headsets. They're a bit pricey, but they are worth the money and they can last.
