CCP, please fix them as soon as possible.
What is the benefit of making them sticky if 90% of the placements cause the explosive to be nullified. Now I have to painstakingly aim to place them in very similar locations (to prior to the patch) to hope they work.
There is also a delay on the trigger or sometimes it doesnt register when you try to set off an active explosive.
Unacceptable. |

The delay you experience is a valid mechanic. It was implemented back in Chromosome when REs were abused like a rented mule.

FACT: there are bugs with RE placement on some surfaces. FACT: RE wont detonate till the blue marker for the RE appears. FACT: *BOOM* |

Come on Maken - you should know better or you just dont use them enough. - Not the delay prior to arming. The delay after it is armed and you want to trigger it.
Sometimes you press it and nothing happens, then it goes off. Sometimes you have to press 2-3 times.
Making them sticky is great but if the explosion is ineffective it makes no sense at all.

Well considering there is an arming delay which is a legit mechanic, you will need to be more specific when describing the problem of this other delay in future posts, to avoid your concern being dismissed out of hand.

RE are perfect right now, CCP should be focused on other areas for now so you need to start remembering which areas cause your RE to be ineffective, stop placing there.
I don't think any change is needed, and the weird delay you mention is most likely a result of lag, hence the RE not detonating on time...

I agree the RE is fine, for the past couple days I have been going crazy with them and getting 20+ kills in most battles
You will just have to adapt Daxxis

This is not an adapt issue you sheep.
And how come there was no lag issue prior to this patch. Before this patch, you hit the button and it triggered. Now you have to hit multiple times just to be safe.
Also on placements - I can place RE's further away from enemy and get kills because it is a flat surface. I can place RE's extremely close where they should easily kill multiple enemies and when triggered the are useless. I know this because I have seen it happen and also have escaped instances where the enemy activated them while I was hacking and they dont kill anyone there.
Fine if you want CCP to continue in other areas but it is poor that many times when they implement something it screws up existing mechanics.
RE's have been improved somewhat with the new sticky function but they are far from fine or perfect.
For the time being I have gone back to placing them in areas I know they will work but that is glossing over the issue. Stuff should work so not only vets can be successful but anyone playing the game. |
