The Combat Rifle and Rail Rifle have been released into the hands of mercenaries across the cluster. Now it's time to put them to the test! Take one of the new rifles out into the field and cut down your enemies with them. For every ten kills you score with one of the new rifles, you'll earn 1 free AUR Prototype version of the same rifle, up to a maximum of 100. You might even discover a new favorite.
This event is for public and faction warfare contracts only.
You may use any standard or advanced version of the Combat and Rail Rifles to qualify for the reward.
The AUR prototype reward type will be announced later on this page.
The event lasts from December 18-25.
My question to CCP how do you expect us to compete or even try to accomplish what you are asking when every game is spammed with tanks. I cant even stay in a my CR fit or RR fit do to tank spam. I am always switching to AV to try and fight off the swarms of tanks. The only possible fix to this is to reward all players 100 CR and 100 RR due to the horrible game play at the moment. I for one am giving up on this and will add it to every event before it that has failed.

Oh man up a little, on most maps the solution to too many tanks is to just not give them your clones. Really, they wouldn't rack up such high WP if people were not chasing after them Leeroy Jenkins style with a militia swarm launcher. Use cover, be aware of the tanks location and they can put put around the map all match with nothing to do. Meaning that there are 3-5 people on the opposite team being nearly useless. Capitalize on that. |

This ^^^
Infantry needs to learn that AV/tanks is an opportunists game now, and that goes both ways. A good deal of the time I carry flux and REs with me and if I see the opportunity to kill or do some serious damage to a tank, I take it. Outside of that I avoid tanks at all costs and push the objectives, and I do this very success fully, and there is a reason why this can't be done. Tanks are now also opportunists. With the increased speed that tanks now have, they don't spend a lot of time in any particular location. If people simply hide from them, or take a covered rout to avoid them, they will, very quicky, move on in an attempt to find greener pastures.
Full time AV in an attempt to seek and destroy tanks is a losers game now. because it reqires team work to accomplish and most often takes to long or is unsuccessful, and removes far to many frendlys from the push for the objectives, which alows the enemy infantry to easily mop up the remaining frendlys who are actually trying to win the game/push the objectives. This is the real threat.
TANK CAN BE EASILY AVOIDED THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE TIME. LEVEL DESIGN PERMITS THIS. All it requires is a working knowledge of the map and a little planning. I know that most of you infantry people have some kind of unreasonable hatred toward being killed by a tank... Get over it. It happens. Tanks die as well. It happens. I should know I've killed my fair Share of them, or contributed to their death, while simultaneously pushing the objective.
F*** the tanks. Win the game.

You know, if an enemy infantry manages to hide from me for more than 10 seconds (around a pillar for example) I get bored and move on...

If you think hiding from a tank will solve anything it will not. I have dodged and weaved and still get shot in the back from a tank. I would like to see anyone try and rack up the necessary kills to complete said task, that means you have to kill 1000 infantry with a RR or CR to get the maximum amount. Now that means in 5 days you have to kill on average 200 people a day. Now depending on matches that can be a few hours up to 8hrs or more a day. Now factor in tanks, fatal errors, and some really bad lag and you come to my conclusion this contest is worthless.

Didn't CCP say they specifically designed the new structures to separate infantry from vehicle combat?
HAVs are more area-denial than an actual threat to assaults. All they can do is drive circles around most of the complexes and growl.

Especially if tanks are oober kill hungry, and sit there for 2 minutes chasing you around a pole to kill you, they're being useless, and you're making them frustrated. Congratulations.

*Inhales* What are the objectives in Ambush again? Also, domination is practically ambush with a null cannon in the center. Let's be real. If you had any joy out of Ambush or Domination then it is likely gone because of tanks. Please post a more valid arguement on avoiding tanks but effectively gaining position and getting kills in ambush. Also, please post your strategy for doing this in domination. I mean, since the map is so huge and there is a null cannon in so many spots then there can't be any way that a series of tanks could camp out and keep you from getting to the objective right?
Face it! Your arguement is only partially valid on certain maps with multiple nulls.

Really? Try going inside.
And why do you think you're SUPPOSED to max out the rewards? Entitled much?
Why do CCP have to feed you free items? Why do they need to run events every month? Shouldn't they be more like... events? As opposed to routine?
