It would be an AoD (area of denial) weapon.
Basically throw the grenade and a cloud of nanites are released that linger in that area. They do gradual damage to anyone in the cloud and the nanites are destroyed after they deal damage so the cloud will dissipate.
Could also have triage ones for logis which would be excellent for vehicle repair. Say a tank needs reps, a logi can just toss a triage nanite grenade and the tank can drive through the cloud.

I'd also say give it a design similar to the Flux Grenade.
You would also need to implement a hard cap of sorts, because we don't want people on nanohives spamming Triage Nanite Grenades giving people theoretical invulnerability.

Yes, but this is a bit more remote. Instead of running over and dropping a hive to a hurting player, just throw a grenade their way.

I'm not going to lie, but I read the title as Nanite Injector Grenade.
Just thinking about an explosive that blasts needles in all directions scares me.
(I have a phobia of doctor needles.)
