i contacted CCP and they told me to put the idea in here personally i think its a waste of time seeing as no good idea comes out of these forums and gets put in the game but hey lets waste a bit of reading time shaw we
i have spoke to about 15 to 20 different people and all of us agree the assault rifle is now out gunned
the combat rifle shoots first and does good high damage at mid to long range and has a scope the rail gun does high amount of damage as mid and short range and can also do small amount of damage at long range as well also has a scope the scrambler rifle has single fire high damage for mid range and has its own ability to shoot charged shoots giving it max damage also has a scope thanks to a lot of players bitching the assault rifle is to OP assault rifle is good damage for short range and does ok not good damage at mid range tyerible at long range and so can easily be out gunned but the only 3 rifles at mid to long range before it can get close enough
fully automatic assault rifles had scopes taken off them due to people complaining that it was better then the assault rifle but seeing what we have to day whats to stop the combat or rail rifle even the scrambler rifle doing the same
i understand the burst fire and single fire assault rifles have scopes but once again thanks to people bitching they have pretty much become useless
im not asking for CCP to give fully auto assault rifles a scope that can see further away or shoot targets at long distance im asking they put some sort of sight to give us a bit more Accuracy at short to mid range something like the picture i posted below reason being is when using assault rifle and aim down iron sights the targets are small and it requires more Accuracy to kill the target but if you use any of the other rifles u can practically see the targets head as if there a few meters away from you this isn't much of a request and the assault does need something better then the iron sight

from the picture some may think im trying to turn this game into call of duty or battlefield i swear now that im not CCP doesn't even need to use this design but it would be nice to see something other then a naked gun of the assault rifles with better sights |

Assault Rifle is meant for close range yo so no. I don't think you need a scope on fully automatic guns. The burst and tactical guns (single shot) require precision to use so yes they can haz scope. Fully automatic guns shouldn't have a scope.
A sight maybe different especially since the assault scrambler rifle is fully automatic and has a reflex sight although i think it should be given iron-sights like the rest of us. If they do then i would like guns to have customized sights. Guns come with their own built cpu/pg or rail slot configuration and then you can buy sight or scopes with varying degrees of zoom or reticule design.
I think the guns are the way they are to maintain balance. Otherwise do you know the things i can do if i can get a red-dot sight on my assault combat rifle or an extended mag. I would have a 100 round drum magazine and i could guarantee......you would FU***ING HATE ME. I WOULD BE OP and so would many other things. Wanna give me an extended mass driver clip with rapid fire and OMG! Think this game is broken now? Don't throw anymore monkey wrenches into this game bro. CCP has got that covered in spades.

The AR is still incredibly devastating. The ROF in balance with DPS makes it a great short range weapon. in comparison to other rifles, i feel it is balanced. If im honest, just spend the 4 games worth of SP you gain from skirmish on basic rifles and buy the adv LP gear. its amazing value and gives you more of a feel for the game.

i have been assault since the start and what is winding me up is when ever there's a problem its always the assault rifles fault not the fact people put 3 to 4 damage mods on the rifle but the rifle itself if they nerf it up anymore its gunna turn out like the burst and tactical rifle useless and no one will use it
im not asking for better damage all im asking for is better sights then the iron sight it deserves that much |

I find the iron sights appropriate but being able to "sub fit" the weapon with even just things as simple as differnt sights would appeal to everyone.
(Except forge guns, no sights for them)

Yup, I'm on the "no-sights" side here. Let me give you an example of how Gallente technology works.
Assault Rifle is a Gallente, CQC Rifle that uses metal shell casing. Inside the casing, is terrible, burning plasma, able to melt even the thickest armor.
The Gallente's motto has been, and will always be: Get in their face or go home. In EVE, some of the first Blaster Turrets you get through missions, or trading, have only a 500m range. That's not a lot. That's enough to where you could spit at the other ship, if you wanted. But, the upside is, Gallente Blasters deal a f*ck-ton of damage. Melting even some of the tougher ships.
Because of the super short range, a scope/sight isn't really needed. Think Shotguns. They're Gallente. That's not a coincidence. Plasma Cannons? The low splash tells you that it was meant for CQC in tight spaces. Also Gallente. All you need to do: Get a scout. Get in their face. Make them regret bringing a railgun to a plasma fight.

yes. it's a waste of time at their effective range. if you're going to aim-down-sight mode, the existing is plenty good enough already.

I agree. The red dot sight would just make new AR users feel like they should be able to hit with the weapon beyond its optimal. Skilled users will be more than able to kill at range with this weapon regardless of the sight used. Heck, earlier today I got an 88m kill with the AR (no others were shooting at the target and it started as full health).
A larger sight would also obscure the users field of vision which is one of the current benefits of the AR.

I'd love to choose the sight for each weapon, but a ScR with an ACOG (to mention something most of you are aware of) would be a uber-OP killer IMHO.
The Gallente AR doesn't need a scope, but a red dot wouldn't be bad at all (like the SMG one for example). |

The AR doesn't have optics because people complained about the sights in the beta , so CCP removed it and used iron sights instead because everyone is used to iron sights in other modern games.
CCP is going to add gun customization , but they said that around a year ago in the weekly feedback/suggests thread. Although during fanfeast it is supposedly coming out between during the time of fanfeast and up to 18 months |

well if u want tocustomize ya gun i think u should pay for extra stuff nothing dear though for example u can have a sight for 500 isk a grip for 300 isk stuff like that
