So, I have this friend.... and err, ummm... when he was first making out his character, it's possible that in his excitement he maxed a certain skill that has no purpose beyond level 3, because he heard that it reduced signature radius or something. He later found out that it didn't do that... That in fact it did nothing at all....
So what should this skill do precisely? As it currently stands this is something of an SP trap laid out for the unwary, especially since it's literally the first skill that a person sees; and CCP sure isn't in the mood to respec those points..
At the moment I can imagine that they might be saving the higher levels for things like Pirate Faction Dropsuits (you know they are coming) or MTAC integration or something like that.. But that's just me.
Are there any other things missing from the game that this skill might be good for? |

I personally want to see every skill that only 'unlocks' things be given an actual purpose. Its incredibly bad design as it stands.
For dropsuit command, how about a 1-2% per level boost to your base move speed?

What other skills are there that have dead levels in them? I've heard that there are some vehicle ones as well? I ask because I'm thinking of putting something in the newbies section under the heading "Don't Follow Me".. |

The game can't register anything moving over roughly 10m/s, which is the max speed for a Scout.

Sure it can. Vehicles go well above 10m/s. My LAV with a nitro absolutely flies, probably close to 100m/s. More than that, do the math on a minmatar scout. Dual proto kinkats it gets going above 10m/s.
Besides from that though, what I suggested would never get you over 10m/s. I suggested a boost to the base move speed. Aka walking speed. That thing you do when your not sprinting.
Or it could be some other bonus entirely, i just gave one idea. How about +10 shields, +10 armor per level. How about a 5% per level decrease in the stamina cost of jumping.
There are plenty of creative bonuses that could be thought up, and all of them would be better than the 'unlock' bonus we have now.

Spaceship command gives a bonus to agility. Since that doesn't have a direct analogue in DUST a small movement speed bonus as suggested above makes sense. I believe it used to come with a bonus to signature radius, which would also make sense. |

more then likely lvl 4 & 5 will be fore more advanced suits down the line, gotta remember only a small fraction of what ccp wants to implement over time is in the game. it ill be handy later, more then likely. |
