What do you guys think? He talks about vehicles after infantry, just wait a bit.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

The thing that will fix tanks is more content: shield av, webifiers, ewar, heavy air units... all that good stuff
Going to stay out of AV/V debates, better for my sanity.

Besides, can't rely on stuff fixing it in the future.
That's like scouts and cloaks, they will maybe be useful in the future, but for now? Dafuq are they useful for?

While I appreciate what he is saying in the video, Dust is not a military simulation. A change like this would be received worse than a nerf I believe. Suddenly all of those "leet" tankers will be constrained to a field of view that very few vehicle operators care for. There is only one necessary fix for tanks. Make them slow. They can be behemoths of EHP and near unkillable. But make them trade maneuverability for that. Should they commit to an urban firefight, they should realize that they will have to TANK all the damage and then leave. They cannot be allowed to continue to "kite" as they do now. |

That's the thing, even if it's not a military simulation, it works as a gameplay mechanic.
Just like he said, third person is a crutch.

Nerf blaster RoF and increase damage. It then becomes less an infantry weapon and more an AV weapon.
That is literally THE only reason infantry is b*tching. Nothing else is really getting in their way.

Dust isn't a reality simulation. I agree with his thoughts on arma, because that's what kind of game that is. However, the developers of arma and dust included third person for a reason. Some people don't enjoy being restricted to first person. |

Just like he said, third person is a crutch. If that's the kind of game you want to play, it is. If you don't want to play that kind of game, it's just frustrating and makes people want to play something else.
Some people like reality simulated FPS's, some don't. Dust is as far away from realistic as possible without being team fortress two. |

interesting concept but not appropriate for DUST. As far as tanks go i think CCP intended for a tank to only be taken out effectively by another tank. AV players must now run in wolf packs to effectively kill armor.
considering the new repair rate for vehicles CCP should buff AV damage output....as much as i enjoy god mode even with my hardeners offline, the lil guys running around with proto swarm launchers should be able to do more than just tickle my shields. |

Can I have your fit? When my Hardeners go down I run the **** to the red line, I wish I had god mode with no hardeners Q_Q

Gunnlogi Pilot, If proto swarms hit me and I don't have a booster, I don't get repped.
(Cat_Merc) Basically (Cat_Merc) Vehicles should be first person only
I would be up for this, I've run a tank in just first person and it's a game changer, while you can't see what's going on behind you, you can see people running up and placing remotes on your tank, in first person you've got no idea unless you hear the sound of it going on.
The only thing I'd ask for in return is the possibility that the HUD which displays your tank and the turret (Showing the turret move in relation to your tank) has damage indicators, which flash red when hit on either the front, rear, left or right side.

I'd be fine with that.

it's a good video, something to think about. But any limit to situational awareness is countered by scanners. Even if the vehicle itself doesn't have one, someone in the squad probably does. There is no need to peak out to look around when you can just look on the corner of your screen.
Please give tanks some balance
