It is intended solely for troop transport and it's the reason that it doesn't have a "true" main gun. Just wait until the introduction of the other aerial vehicles. Now...guess who would win? ive seen 20+ tanks be demolished by a dropship :P a python or incubus with 2 gunners demolishes tanks.... they have no hope. i know blackhole nova has killed more then a hundred tanks solo in his python without gunners so far having issues destroying tanks in an assult dropship? bring two gunners and watch them melt.... 3x the dps

When you fought that gunnlogi did you have gunners or just your gun? I know rail incubus is awesome air superiority now. I'm fairly sure that 3 prototype rails full incubus skills and two skilled gunners could make short work of a gunnlogi!

If they removed the overheat from blasters and railguns that would solve a lot of problems because currently I can't only ever expend half of my clip, which usually puts a shield tank down to about 1/5 shields. If I actually was able to use my full clip then I could continue firing and kill it. The overheat mechanics was put on blasters and railguns to act as a balancing factor when they had unlimited ammo, which is no longer the case, so I think that should be completely removed and be reserved for vehicle laser weapons. Also the blaster is worthless against vehicles, it is only 44% effective vs vehicle shields and because it is too accurate (and the dropship a too unstable platform) it cannot hit infantry either.

You just have to figure out how fast you can shoot and still not get overheat.

You kill them so fast it's hilarious. I don't know who fits side guns anymore, seems like a rookie mistake to me. Just get good with your front gun and you'll be fine. It either has too fast heat build up or two slow of a cooldown period once it overheats, but the real issue is that blasters are garbage vs infantry without a proper first person camera, and possibly even with one. So Incubus pilots are forced to invest in both railguns and missiles, and are forced to recall and redeploy multiple times in most matches from anti vehicle (rails) to anti infantry (missiles) while Pythons get both in one neat package, and never have to experience the nightmare of managing overheat on a dropship. I've spoke with people on IRC and the concept of a Proto Rail LAV, providing that the LAV is constantly driving around the tank, unless it runs then it's finished. Buffing it any more would make it ridiculous, Missiles for Armor, Rails for Shields and I'm one shotting most infantry already, any more and I'll be one shotting heavies no problem. Anyways, the small missiles are for taking out light vehicles and for supporting, it's why HAVs have two smalls on them, it's not for killing other HAVs, it's for support and taking out AVing infantry. King of the Forums // Vehicle Specialist for Hire. Buffing or Debuffing Vehicles or AV will never fix anything.

Had some help as its shields were at 1/2 when I started in on it but the armor was at 100%. I'm bad at math but the DPS is something like 900 for 10 seconds until the railgun overheats. Ghosts Chance Inf4m0us 535	Posted - 2013.12.22 14:46:00 - [18] - Quote the small railguns are now automatic sniper rifles.... the amount of headshots and infantry ive destroyed with a small rail on my LAV is hilarious. small rails added to a rail tank its pretty much an instant win against other tanks if you have dedicated gunners. the amount of DPS they add is insnae, and for an AV weapon its AI killing power feels just right, its not a missle and wont have that kind of AI firepower, but against shield vehicles the small rail outpreforms missles. thats right, small rails now have something there better then missles for, anti shield AV

Among other places, go check out Judge Rhadamanthus's YouTube channel and you'll see him take down several tanks with his Assault Dropship.
