Quote: 8. Do you feel equipment spam is a problem and if so what are your thoughts on possible solutions for littered uplinks and stacked nanohives? by The Council of Planetary Management (CPM)
Use of equipment is obviously encouraged but abuse of any system to the point where itGÇÖs detrimental to gameplay is obviously a problem. So, yeah, itGÇÖs definitely an issue. WeGÇÖd like to approach the problem by first increasing the PG/CPU costs along with role-specific skills that reduce those costs to discourage mass fitting of drop uplinks and nanohives, and put them back into the hands of the specialists. Eventually, weGÇÖd want to introduce the ability for the enemy to hack a piece of equipment and take ownership of it (to encourage smarter placement of equipment instead of dumping dozens in plain sight) and have War Barge-fired EMP strikes that destroy all equipment over a very large area.

I do not think that raising the fitting costs and adjusting role specific skills will stop the spam of equipment due to the fact most people have suits specifically for spamming equipment. My suits have a STD side arm and equipment and if I get my hands on a supply depot I am able to spam A LOT of equipment if I want. If the CPU and PG beats my suit I have plenty of room for using PG/CPU modules. No worries. If the skills change, I will just skill back in. In other words this will not stop a logi from dumping A LOT of equipment.
I think that a better way would be limits. Version 1: If I place a proto type drop uplink and it has max active 2 on it, then the max amount of ANY proto drop uplinks I can deploy is 2. In return maybe stats on drop uplinks can be change so the variety has some variety, and choosing those 2 uplinks become strategic. This applies to all equipment
Version 2: Map equipment limit, quite simple put a limit of equipment per team on a map, just as vehicles have.
I did however like the comment about allowing players to hack enemy equipment. |

I'd like if equipment had a skill that determines the amount of each that can be dropped. So regardless of which variants they use, there would be a hard cap. Upping the CPU and PG would only hurt those who move around with equipment. The spammers would largely be unaffected. A change to equipment is long over due. |
