I have around 2 million isk. I want to purchase a particular skill that cost 8 mill isk. I read a advertisement in the marketplace that says I can buy skills with aurom. I go and purchase 40,000 aurom. But for whatever reason the marketplace will not let me change my payment method from isk to aurom to purchase this skill(name of the skill is irrelevant at this point). Is there something that im not correctly understanding? And is there a way to convert the aurom to isk? |

Nope, you can buy stuff that requires less skill to use with aurun. Ex: proto weapon when you only have the skills for advanced.
Going to stay out of AV/V debates, better for my sanity.

"Buying" the skill with ISK, which only allows you to 2. "Unlock" the skill with SP that you earn passively and actively.

Best use of the aurum would be skill boosters (if he has the time, using 3 day active boosters over two active SP cycles to make the most of his purchase). To get an idea of what he wants to be, he should do a few round of FW for each race and try out all the std level gear.

As to the Aurum->ISK issue, there is currently no way to convert aurum to isk. When the player market arrives (SoonTM ), you could purchase some aur gear and sell it to other players for ISK... but ISK is easy to get. SP is much, much more valuable (hence why I suggested the SP boosters).[/quote
Honestly Im not really a serious Dust player and the most I use my PS3 for is Netflix, so checking out what the other races have to offer is of not much interest to me. I'm just trying to start my EVE Alliance a bit faster as I still have another 10 days to go until I can start it using my eve toon. |
