It isn't perfectly balanced, but it is close.
The balance between the main rifles is pretty good. The RR is a bit too good in CQC but the AR and CR are damn lethal as well. I am getting killed by all fairly equally. Laser rifles are another story. They need to be the longest range with some more zoom because they are the worst rifle at CQC. They are outranged by all the other rifles.
HMGs are awesome again, Forges can kill tanks and infantry from all sorts of range.
Sniper rifles have always been decent for the niche they fill.
Militia tanks are too strong compared to Standard ones. I have another character specced into tanks and then I use Militia tanks on this character. I can't fit a nice dual HAR setup on my militia tank because it HAS to have small guns fitted, but it does pretty good with some smarter fighting and a HAR, Hardener and a Blaster ammo expansion in the lows. I still get killed easy in both versions (Soma or Madruger) when I get stuck, or I have hardeners down or just get overwhelmed. It isn't game breaking but it does need a tweak.
I think Jihad jeeps are a bit too powerful with the sticky REs. You can lose a nice fit Maddy even with hardeners on pretty fast.
Overall though I am having the most fun even with DUST. |

True, while militia tanks DO need to become inferior to standard (speed) there isn't any SINGLE thing that pisses me off more than the rest. The collective things that are equally rage inducing are: ttk, scrambler hipfire/rof, scanners, callogis with 600 twin tanked, assault rails that instawtfpwn my boundless CR at pointblank, and ambush spawns.
No one thing stands out to me ATM, but the game certainly is A TON more enjoyable than back in Beta, and especially early uprising.

Forge gun have only about 400m so the projectile disappears after that.
Assassination is my thing.

It's actually 300m if I recall correctly and 600m for rails on tanks.

Why exactly? It's the only hard counter to a good tank, and it's even vulnerable to small arms fire (REs are easily triggered).
There will be bullets. ACR+SMG

I agree, dust is almost balanced right now. CCP just needs to buff the laser and plasma cannon, and nerf the rail riffle.
I think I'm the only person still waiting for mechs/giant robot killing machines.....

I wouldnt even go that fsr, in terms of making things matter, having a longer genral TTK will make the RR's super high kick (past 10-14 shots) an actual factor, rather than dropping everything at 18-20 against proto heavies.
