Nah, a dot would be too precise for hip-fire. An open center cross like most other weapons have for hip-fire would be fine, but it'll never happen. CCP is on a never-ending campaign to punish snipers. |

ive gotten a 1 or 2 hipfire kills with the tac ar before. although it was an extremely lucky shot. |

Hip fire with the sniper rifle (ATM) requires 2 things, practice and proficiency. Meaning little to no sway and knowing where the center of your screen is. I have successfully managed to hipfire several sneaky sneaks trying to get me from behind while sniping in the past and think that a crosshair would be nice, of course I suppose a marker would work too...

I once fell off my perch while sniping. Ran into a Minmatar Assault while trying to get to a supply depot.
Even though I was in my G-Assault, I didn't switch to sidearm.
Proceeded to head-shot no-scope him out of pure luck. :P
(A sniper rifle's spread is so little, that if you're at point-blank range and know where the center of your screen is, it's just as good as a shotgun in CQC)

I have probably had over 30 kills using hip fire, funniest when you have to snipers going at each other on a tower and other suits must get ticked off when coming after a sniper and getting taken out from the hip..
I know it all about the center of the screen just would be nice to have a shot gun size sight I always thought

lol... i wish, with sniper rifle hipfire its possible to miss a tank 5m away unless they changed it which i haven't tried in a bit. i have seen the sniper miss with hipfire at 2m at a guy, he was hacking a supply depot and i ran behind him and fired the 5 shot in the clip and they all missed.
