Does this happen to other people as well?
On my Standings tab under Character Sheet it says that I'm level 5 for example and 17% to level 6.
Yet on my close battle debriefing page it says I'm only level 4 and have 335 points to get to level 5.
Not only this but it will stay at 335 for a bunch of matches, then actually go BACK up to a higher number.
It's been doing this since level 2.
What in the world is going on now? |

It's been giving me level 4 payout and it also seems that once downtime comes it refreshes itself so now it does say I'm at level 5 with the corresponding payout. |

I believe this to be an artifact of how "syncing" occurs in EVE Online. Basically, if you do something that changes your status (like joining/leaving a corp or increasing/decreasing your sec status) then the effects of such a change only happen after what is known as a "session change" in the game. In EVE every time you dock or undock, change solar systems by jumping, clone jump, die, etc. you get a session change and these "less time critical" things like standings etc. get changed during the session change.
However in DUST, we NEVER leave our quarters (even in battles at other locations, we are still in our quarters) and thus no session change can occur.

Because of this, while you are still accruing the correct amount of standing points, the effects won't take place until you force a session change to occur.
How can a DUST guy force a session change? Log off, then log back on. Incidentally if we had session changes (ie. could move from place to place like pilots in EVE) this would also FIX THE COMMS PROBLEM as well.
Seriously DUST devs, the EVE devs have things set this way for a reason for the last 10 years. It's obvious how this stuff works even to us players. So why doing only the half-implementations? That is the MAJOR SOURCE of all your issues and problems with this game. Trying to "borrow" from EVE only to find out that you cannot "half-borrow" and need to do the full implementation.

Yesterday, it said I was +1k away from the next level.
Today it was around ~300.
Even though I didn't play between then.
DUST is so broken, even my PS3 refuses to let me play it.

This is a known issue, the character sheet displays the correct value.
And no it has nothing to do with your location or session changes or anything like that.

That is a first.
I am totally surprised.
(Didn't we pretty much invent computers to handle math? If the most basic of all computing functions are ruined in the hands of CCP, then what would lead anyone to believe that this game will ever work properly. The Open Beta Skirmish loving Vet with stats that not got fixed as promised, has spoken.)

I was losing standings simply for losing. I would guess that that's not working as intended.
Infantry cries for tank changes, and they don't like them. Tell them to use vehicles, they complain, and use cars anyway

I have over 20K LP and just last night went over lvl 2 YaY
CCP nerfin the bejeesus outta me.. 6 straight ban hammers, all funnier than the previous

I stand corrected, and thank you Nullabor for the clarification.
I still say that verisimilitude needs to be implemented as well as a way for DUST ground pounders (GroPos) to be able to travel throughout the EVE universe. At least a way for our local chat to change with our battle locations so we can better coordinate with EVE pilots etc.
