Instead of having a stationary MCC, allow Eve pilots to maneuver the MCC during matches to drop soldiers where they're needed. Additionally, they should be able to fire a hull mounted cannon.

No. Two different games with entirely different codes. WE should be piloting the MCC. This game was originally supposed to have 32 v. 32 battles, which would have made perfect room for a "command squad" of two people for the MCC; a pilot, and a "Commander." Or something. We may never know, or see, what the original ideas were.
The thing is, this is only a viable option when players and corps can own the MCCs. There will never be a player controlled MCC in public matches for a variety of reasons. Who would fly it? How would the matchmaking system (which is sooo robust) choose the "commander" roll? Similar problems for FW. And PC? Don't even get me started on PC.
Eventually, yes. Within our lifetime? Dunno.

Yeah, Dust players are going to be the ones using the MCC.
EVE players will pilot the War Barges. They announced that at EVE Vegas.
