I am understanding that you will never offer a re-spec to players. I dont know if this is truly your official stance or not. However considering how many things and how much you have changed in game equipment and such after people have specked into them and how you seem to have no clue how to balance things before releasing to the GP i think that if you are not going to offer re-specs any time soon something should be done. I think one of the best first approaches is to make militia versions of nearly everything before even coming up with the other versions then let the players play test these militia weapons for a while (depending on how broken they are ) then once you have collected data on how the equipment or weapons are performing to come up with the other variants from there. Doing this should mean that only small adjustments would need to be made once the regular variants are released. This would also let people try out new gear without sinking sp's into it and ragequiting when you guys trade their new gun for a nerf blaster.

the only problem i see with this plan is that its logical and their for wont be done maybe if you stick it on their dart board where their master plan is laid out it might get picked one day...... |

People will try the militia version, find out they like the weapon, skill into it, then CCP will still drop the nerf hammer and people will be pissed anyway. |

The idea is that, by the time the other versions are to be released, they already have some data on which to base their stats on. This reduces the likelyhood of imbalances that require serious intervention.
It's a way of community playtesting if you will.

Come on you guys read useless threads and reply all the time yet a thread like this that poses an idea that could be very useful gets ignored by the devs completely?

This is called a REQUEST. And as a REQUEST it can at CCPs discretion be acknowledged or ignored. You don't have the right to demand. But try being less mean and you may get a response. |

Technically feedback / requests This is mostly feedback. I also only sugar coat things when dealing with children such as my 1 year old and my 3 year old. Adults should know how to handle criticism. Especially when it is earned such as with CCP.

Ok lead by example, you design a FPS,make it free to play, then perfectly balance the whole game, pay the devs, fund the forums,AND maintain your subscription based game, let's not forget to avoid copyright infringement, and follow all applicable laws in all territories and in multiple languages. By your standards: It must be perfect with 0 bugs. And your deadline is yesterday.Good luck. |

You assume you are worth listening to. CCP is a multinational corporation, and you are what,a single person? You should be happy they let us request anything at all. And yes 'change this to do that' is a REQUEST not feedback. They could close the forums and ignore us completely, and how do you thank them for this kindness? With harassment. Good Job. For terms you might better understand... -What if you had a freeloader living with you, then they get mad at you for not changing your house to be the way they want it,how would you feel? (rhetorical question, don't answer). FYI in CCPs house you're the freeloader. Just accept what they do or don't respond to and move on. |

I think i will take some of your advice and simply ignor you. I posted an idea that is a great idea and could vastly help improve the game especially in the long term and all i am asking is that CCP takes a look at it. I am not demanding that it be implemented. You simply have some weird hard on for this company that has some of the worst customer service that i have seen in a very long time even for free to play. Which BTW does not mean they are not making money. In fact there are many "free" games out there that make an absolute killing. I have actually put money into this game also and i believe in speaking with my wallet just as much as with my posts.

The OP raises a very good point in that with only the militia variants of certain weapons it is really hard to make an informed choice on which weapon to skill into. Also you are being very unreasonable. Although CCP develops both games, it is CCP Shanghai who authors Dust, not the Eve team. They also have numerous other projects on the go so to take some advice from one of their players, who has first hand experience of the new player experience is very legitimate and exactly what they have always wanted.
Good ideas OP, keep them coming

Thank you. I really do think this would be a great way to play test weapons since CCP can't have a testing server.
