Obviously something needs to change......I myself am a proto gallente logi and like how good i am playing. In my opinion right now the logi is way too OP.....on any given match on any given day i will at least earn 3000 war points in a match......now that is fine.....but almost have of my points sometimes come from kills. Right now logi's are basically assaults, but better.....they have more mod slots, more equipment slots and more cpu and pg......now i know the caldari, gallente, and minmatar logi's cant have side arms, but thats not much of a disadvantage....I understand that logi's are a little slower if you tank them, but they are being used as an offensive, rather than a defensive tactic....In my opinion, a logi should be pretty helpless all alone, i dont think defenseless..... but pretty scared....lol....they should be a tool....yes a tool.....a logi should not be on the front lines mowing people down and not doing anything in support to their team. I have talked to many logi's and almost all of them play the logi like an assault. Now i totally understand why the logi has so many mod slots (to make them be able to withstand incomming fire) but basically ccp has made them into almost the perfect killing machine. Im not saying to nerf the logi but what i am saying is there should be a buff to equipment of some sort ( to encourage the support role) and maybe a decrease in damage of whatever gun your using to compensate for the bonuses to equipment. Or maybe take away the light weapon and just have a sidearm......any suggestions would help and this is just my opinion and im saying this because i myself am a logi and i see whats wrong with this problem.
Im not saying to nerf anything to extreme either, im just saying that the assault role is being muffled due to the logi

try searching stuff on this, if you can handle it. there has literally been countless threads talking about this. just be prepared to sift througha very large pile of meaningless QQ to find the useful information while you're at it.

I'm a Proto Gal Logi, and I would be happy with just a sidearm slot.. As long as I got a weapon respec out of it

I agree with the OP.
Fundamentally, the Logi shouldn't be better at assaults than Assaults are -- and that's precisely where we are at now, IMO.
That said, I also agree with other respondents who have pointed out this topic has come up hundreds of times. |

Logis got 3 nerfs in 1.7: Shield penalty, armor bug fix, and the new rifles. Aside from changing the suit bonus, (they can't code equipment bonuses yet) the suits are fine. Assaults could use a slight buff to make them better than basic frames and we all know scouts need some love. I'm choosing to reserve judgement on the heavy since we only have one racial tree and two weapons. Wait until 1.8 and HTFU.
I tried to put a level into Amarr Commando once, but got a server notification saying "Why?"

I'm not entirely sure myself....,the proto commando has 1 the exact same # of slots as a MLT heavy....except the MLT heavy gets grenades and the commando gets an equipment slot......

Do you enjoy stepping on a hive that gives you 70-90 rounds for your guns.
How about being picked up at 80%?

Well you can kiss all of this goodbye if you give the logi a ****** base hp. There is no way I would carry awesome equipment on a ****** ass suit that's paper thin.

I believe the problem here is too many people brick tank. CCP need to find a way to stop brick tanking (only on logis, don't hit assault, it's bad enough for them as it is and that's basically their job). Personally i'm proud to say i don't brick tank my caldari logi, although i used to.
A better solution than just straight nerfing the extender stacking (like they did with shield), would be to encourage/ convince logis that making a suit that can recover fast is better than tanking.
I'm going to share my fittings for my proto caldari logi so you can see this a bit more clearly
Support fits: 3x complex shield ext, 2x enhanced shield energizers, (insert weapon of choice), uplink, focoused rep tool, injector, than in the lows i put an assortment of regulators, repairers, and usually a cpu upgrade (because caldari)
Scout logi fits: 3x complex shield ext, 2x complex damage, (insert weapon of choice), scanner, uplink, nanohive, than regulators along with the cpu upgrade
These fits have about the same hp as my adv suits and i have no problem with that because i don't use it as assault. even with my scout logi, i don't run assault, it's purely to give my squad some info and uplinks and to flank. More people need to become aware to these type of fits compared to all shield and armor extender fits. your job as a logi is to help the team, so why do you need to absorb hits when you're gonna be in and out quickly.
TL;DR:
-we need to stop brick tanking on logis
-try to encourage recovery rather than nerfing brick tanks
-proto suits son't need to have 700+ hp as long as they can get back into the line of fire to rep the assaults quickly
PSA: Don't jump out of a dropship early in FW, you will die
