SCR is much better than the TAR. (TAR clip size: 18, Shots before SCR overheats: 18, but SCR has much more range and has a much higher DPS limit)
RR is much better than the Breach AR (Breach AR only does 20 DPS more than the RR for the first second, then the RR has 100 DPS over it. Also has larger clip size and more range)
Combat Rifle is much better than the Burst AR (Don't even need to explain).
And yet the ASCR, ACR, and ARR are godly and are arguably better than the AR?
ASCR - Red dot sight, tighter hip fire, higher alpha, larger clip, more range
ARR - More range, massive alpha damage, only drawback can be easily negated
ACR - An AR with more range
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

It's not just the Assault variants, the SCR, the CR and the RR are arguably better than the AR too, just that it's harder to compare since they don't behave the same.

RR is DOMINATING in close range, that tight hip fire is amazing for headshots.
CR can produce 620 DPS with minimal recoil.
SCR is... SCR, I don't even need to explain.
Show me your math how it wins.

Gallente weapons are supposed to be short range, but higher DPS, so I'd buff the rate of fir of the AR variants and increase magazine size. Just because the variants are meant to mimic the racial rifles doesn't meant they have to suck compared to them.
