yeah spent all night in an assault dropship. Lost ohhh I don't know... 10 million in a very short time. Railguns in the red line pretty much make a dropship useless unless it's one of the new maps.

Dont even need to invest sp just but the damage amp with mtl hardnener and railgun ammo and your good to go..sp invesment = none |

Its not the tank. Its the Redline and the range. Because of the redline and full map range a rail tanker can build a weak tank as he does not have to face the enemy. So he can stack damage mods as he armour is redline hiding.
This is my biggest gripe with 1.7 so far. Tanks with super power and super range and then add the speed they have now, not the bug but the base speed, they are almost invincible. There is just no way something that deadly should be unreachable. ITs the same with redline snipers.

The concept of the redline is important. We need a staging area to gather forces and make an offensive. But we need to make that area a 'no damage' zone where neither side can engage into or from. Snipers, other infantry and tanks will have to leave it in order to do damage
I don't know how that will work for the emplaced installations in the redline but we do need people to engage decisively onto the battlefield where they are counterable

I was thinking mainly in terms of dropships. I think the damage needs a buff, and the fire rate greatly reduced. Blaster should be lower damage but higher dps, and the rail high damage but low dps.
Ooh! MAke them deal about 1.5x to 2x more damage than they do now, but have to reload after every shot! Reduce ammo accordingly. |

another rail or two should pop him. We charge three forges and wait til he pokes his cowardly head out.
as you say they are usually glass cannons. Strap a damage mod and a nitrous to a soma and roll up on him. If he's not toast jump out and bean him with AV grenades. Yolo |

It's not just tanks either, installations are a problem too. Because I can't stay in the redline I usually have about 10 seconds to try and kill the turret, probably while the other 2-3 redline installations are shooting at me. Missile installations in particular are especially bad, I have had them notice me at 600 meters and continue to shoot me out to 1000 meters. To make it worse they have unlimited ammo and can send off a volley of like 6 shots every 2 seconds, it makes it impossible to fly! |

Run with a dedicated forge gunner or two, we can take out enemy installations and when utilizing a LAV troll the red-line railfags.
Admittedly pre-1.7 it was much more lethal, but still will get the job done. |

I think they should lower the spool time slightly and decrease the rof on the railguns. It would be nice if they lower the damage up to 20% based on how far the shot was. That's how I would balance it at least because I'm dead before I can even open the module wheel which should only be possible if you get hit by 2 separate tanks/forges.

The tanks are not op... its the redline and the range.... I even go as far as to say just redline. Take away the redline and those tanks will go down. You dont know how many times I just wait at the redline, like border patrol. the second they cross it a dive bomb them!!!
So I could care less about how op a tank may be.. get rid of the redline or increase the time it takes a dropship can be in it |

In many ways this update seems to have left us coming back to the infamous redline yet again, just as many of our discussions did back in the Closed Beta.
The issue again becomes how to deal with it with the redline effectively being an essential map component to prevent the farming issues that were a major component of the E3 build. Anyone at the bottom end of Line Harvest would just get farmed by HAVs, snipers, and whatever else anyone pulled out because the redzone was too small to offer them protection.
Personally, this seems like another example of why having a game full of "bowl" maps isn't exactly the best idea. No matter what map you're on, the redline almost always provides an elevated position that makes sniping or railgunning from behind it ideal.

Useless? Are you fking insane? Im running the 30k milita ships like suits. SMOOSH I bought over 2000 of em for like 60mill. They are more useful now then they ever were. Got 10 mill back already. I also use them to block doors so enemies cant escape. Stock up before they get jacked up again. Total SP invested in ships/vehicles -0-

Wanted to add, I saw an assault ship go 30/0 yesterday. I was bored and just sat blasting him with rail turret all match "stealing my kills". I flipped him over a couple times. Fker got first place too.
