Why were you complaining about the HMG being too accurate? what the hell were you thinking?!?
Think about it, what the weapon really needed was more RANGE and POWER. What you've achieved it reducing what little it had in the first place as you leave bullets in the furniture rather than the merc who's shooting you.
So well done. You've made possibly weakest weapon spray its bullets everywhere rather than on target. How did you think that would help it? CQC? I for one never had a problem.
I for one liked the accuracy. I've known about the accuracy since 1.5 when I first picked up the weapon. All you had to do is ignore the stupidly large circle reticle and you were spot on. I liked the fact that the other heavies didn't seem to notice this so I was carving up even proto heavies with my basic fit. Oh the headshots I got with that thing.
I have no qualms with Ghaz's video, it does what it intended by pointing out a game mechanic not working as intended. But saying on that evidence that what you wanted was INaccuracy was absurd. Inaccuracy is what you want for a weapon that's too powerful - for the sake of balance. Does that sound like the HMG to you?
Also if someone can explain why the accuracy is reversed (from less to more accuracy as you fire) cus that makes no sense to me at all.

Don't try to logic people's thinking around here. They'll never make any sense. All the want is AR 514 or Tank 514- **** everything else. Sigh.

AFAIK, HMG in 1.7 behaves the same as in 1.6. What's your problem?

The assault rifle ranges got pushed out but the other weapons like the HMG and LR didn't get a range buff to make them competitive

You want inaccuracy for the accuracy it provides. every bullet that isn't in that little dot right now(or a very tiny area around that dot which can only hit if that dot is on something) is a bullet that WILL miss, regardless of if the target is in the "cone" or not.
an actual cone of fire INCREASES overall accuracy by giving you a greater range of fire where you were off by a milimeter before, you will now be hitting. when you aim at their chest, you will also be hitting their head, when you fire into a group, they will all fall down at around the same time(assuming similar suits and loadouts)
And the inverse accuracy is caused by "Unlike earlier models, the weapon requires no spool up time; rounds are expelled the instant the trigger is pressed. This comes at the cost of initially reduced accuracy as the counter-rotating drives slowly align."
If you hear the words "WORTH IT!" look about, something hilarious just happened.

People complained about the pinpoint accuracy because that was not how weapon is suppose to work.
It's meant to spray bullets all over the cone then slowly get more accurate as you fire.
I'm not sure why the weapon doesn't have a spin up alt fire that makes you walk slower but spins up your barrel and gets your cone ready to fire down range is beyond me.

HMG is worthless, it is only good at killing other HMG heavies.
EDIT: A dispersion buff is the last thing it needs. More range & power is the way to go. The SMG has more damage per bullet. lol

Dude. The ignorance.
"Damage per bullet" is a near inconsequential statistic for anything but sniper rifles or AV.
DPS is what matters, and the HMG already has the highest DPS of any infantry weapon bar the shotgun.
It DOES NOT need more damage. It is still an absolute murder machine if you can keep your single pixel on target.
What it needs is the ability to do damage beyond a single pixel, because otherwise it's like using a scalpel in a knife fight. Good for the insanely talented surgeons among us, yes, but not useful to anyone else.
ED: And no, nothing whatsoever changed for the damage mechanics of HMG in 1.7. If you find you're sucking with the HMG now, it's because you haven't adjusted to the new annoying muzzle flash graphic.
