I think everybody has noticed by now that Caldari and Amarr don't really have a chance to win, and it seems that it will be getting worse and worse for them? Why? Because they don't win and get killed often in the process of the losing. This will cause Caldari and Amarr players to only use Militia or Standard gear at best. because they're going to lose it anyways. Gallente and Minmatar on the other hand win most of the matches. So it doesn't hurt them much to pull out the advanced and proto gear. Then of course they win most of their games due to obvious reasons and get their standing faster and earn more LP due to this. This will then allow them to use the specialiced proto gear from the LP store, making them even stronger. So what do we get? Pubstomping Extreme: Proto Teams vs. Militia only teams.
I really like the new faction warfare, but it's really hard to actually have fun with it when I'm going to get stomped 95% of the time. We really need some way to balance this. I mean just look at the stats at the end of the game: The Gallente line is always at 100% and Caldari always at 0%. Pretty sure it looks the same for Minmatar / Amarr. Not really the way it should be. Funny thing is that it's the other way around in space, according to some Gallente pilots I've been talking with. But not even orbitals manage it to change the tide of battle here.
I think there should really be done something about this. Of course you can't tell the better players to fight for the other side. A kind of "solution" I could think of woud be that the "underdog" faction should get some of their suits reimbursed from the NPCs, encouraging them to use better gear. This would make the fights at least a little bit more balanced and also kinda benefit their enemies, because then they will get better loot.
Not really sure if this is that good an idea, but at least something should be done against these extremely unbalanced FW matches. |

A better solution would be the player market.
That way people can properly fund their FW and people are incentivised to fight for the losing factions because their LP store items are worth more.

Yeah. Haven't thought about that, but sounds better than my idea, which would kinda take away stuff from the sandbox part of the game. Here's hoping the player market (and if its just Dust only for now) is the next big thing in 1.8. :/ |

Amarr win pretty often, in my experience.
But yes, the FW system is doomed to fail. The more one side wins, the more FW gear they'll have and the easier it will be for them to win more.

I think if we were really fighting as mercenaries then the losing factions would be increasing the incentives to draw better fighters to their side.
Remove time in battle from ISK payout formula and provide a bonus to winning team... Watch battles become fun again.

Could you imagine how valuable my 50 Imperial Ak.0 Suits would be? I don't even think I have seen on used yet.

Organize more, it works wonders. Right now there is many people on the Gallente and Minmatar who are running solo because they do not really need squads to win at this point. If you garner a squad of your own who all have mics you actually stand a fighting chance, if you manage to get 2 into a match victory is almost assured. Come prepared though, make sure to have dedicated anti-vehicle players who know how to work together. |

It's not even that the other sides have better players. I often see q- synced squads having more than a few members go negative. No matter how much success we have at days end, the percentage is still overwhelmingly in favor of minmatar

When I run with the squads of my corp it's not that big of a problem. But they mostly start running when it's 10 PM in my country. This doesn't leave me much time. And organizing blueberries can be pretty hard, when 80% of them don't even run in squads. |

Forget blueberries, unless they have a mic and can cooperate they are near dead weight typically. Here is what you do:
1) Create a squad, list it as "Caldari FW, Mics Only" 2) Gather as many corp/alliance mates as you can (people with mics only) as they are more dependable than randoms 3) If you still need more people, make the squad public to fill in the spots. Randoms can be pretty decent and if they aren't pulling their weight kick them, or if they don't have a mic then kick them too.
You now should have a fairly decent group of people capable of giving you a winning chance at FW. If randoms don't take orders well or are not pulling their weight then kick them, I am sorry if it hurts your feelings but I want to win.
If you are getting really into FW I suggest creating a temporary chat channel and splitting your squad. Ideally you will be able to q-sync your squads into the same matches and you will pick up more good players with mics. Now you have a stacked team all working together, if you can't win at this point then there is something really wrong (you are probably getting tank and/or proto stomped).
Downside is that you have a lot of randoms so there is a limited ability to have specific roles filled, such as AV.
Just by creating my own squad like this last night I managed to win 3 times in a row. We didn't lose until I got kicked for flying a dropship (no idea why, I dealt no damage and took none either. It's really weird) |

Team deploy and player to player trading is the solution to 80% of the current wave of QQ in GD.
I would rather look bad and win, than look good and lose.
